| A friend just asked me about this, and I thought I'd put it over to the experts. He's looking for a stomp, wants to get that Joe Walsh vibe... |

If your looking for a pedal, zestystrat on this forum swears by the H&K rotosphere but it's fairly pricey here in europe even though it's made in germany...!! although it was a lot cheaper in the states but with the dollar/euro at the moment i don't know how it will work out pricewise.....i have a dynacord CLS 22 19" rack unit that i use for leslie sounds..ebay.de is good for them as they were originally made in germany as well.... the germans sure like their leslie vibes.... ...www.modezero.com has some samples of the later version the CLS 222 this was the model used by gilmour etc for a number of years as well as his original leslie cabs....from all reports the two units are more or less the same soundwise, with the 222 giving you a few extra options with the rotor effect... i've also seen some of the old yamaha cabs with the the leslie effect built in for sale..i missed out on one a while back,it ended up going for 75... there are people still making a specialized amp/cab for this effect but ovbiously if you want to gig it you have more gear to lug around and all the problems of trying to mike up this effect correctly....i think my dynacord is a great effect..so good i'm trying to incorparate it into my 'board or i might rack it with a power amp and run it into a couple of spare 1x12 cabs either side of my main amp and switch between them with a A/B box....don't worry i have some VERY understanding bandmates and a large Ford Transit van..... ....another thing i used to do before i got the dynacord was to turn the speed of the TR-2 up full and mix it with a CH-1 running stereo to two amps, not quite the same but it's not bad either...... |

just one other thing..i noticed that the bass/treble control on the dynacord affects your bypassed sound a makes it a little mid rangy, thats why i want to use a stereo switcher or an A/B box with it in case you were wondering..if zesty reads this i'm sure he would be happy to give you the lowdown on the rotosphere as he has two.... .. ...but i think the rotosphere in bypass does the same ..i.e.... it has a tube in it and some people reported the the tube was distorting in bypass mode probably because they were using humbuckers or an active guitar.?..a little crunch in the sound might not bother some people but i like my straight sound in bypass to be clean.... |

| If you have Boss PW-10 (wah wah) the Univibe setting on this is very good, I use it a lot. |

Hi Goran, 4evrnewB & guys
I was just about to make a similar comment about the Univibe setting on the Boss PW-10 V-Wah.

I guess I've become the Rotosphere guy.
4evrnewB - do a search on the Rotosphere and you'll see FRANZONI & I discuss this topic and the roto on a few different threads.
Here the $0.50 version: it's a great 1.5 trick pony. I use it quite a bit in my rig and I love it. I can get the great leslie sounds as well as a great chorus sound when going for the David Gilmour sound on tunes like Young Lust etc. I havent heard anything that comes close to the quality of sound (sorry Boss). It's also great for KB.
That said, its pricey (buy a used one), its takes up a bit of real estate on the pedal board, and Ill just say that its not built like a boss.
After you search on the other threads, if you have any questions I'll try to answer them.
EDIT: I'll just add that I play in a funk/jamband and my clean tone has to be really clean. IE Strat-type gtr into a vintage twin, only a compressor on it a lot of the time - I havn't noticed any mud in bypass mode although you can add gain when engaged.

Voodoolab Micro Vibe...
best (while still being affordable) UniVibe clone... and the UniVibe is a Leslie "clone" so that'd be close....
It does sound quite good when used as a Leslie simulator.
A good thing though would be to use a BOSS PN-2 after that. Set it to Pan and use two amps.... that'd be cool I guess |
