What Boss pedal do you consider Mythical?
by saying Mythical, I'm not talking about personal views, because we all have preferences, but I consider a pedal that have made music-history, like the Vox/crybaby wha's, the Ibanez TS808/TS9, the EH big muff/memory man, etc... those pedals are considered Mythical, and today there are plenty of products trying to reproduce their sound and vibe, and also reissues... So what Boss pedal can reach this point? Personaly, I would consider the OD1 And you? |

Hi there! I consider the Boss CS-1 Compression/Sustainer and Boss Chorus CE-2, japanese. Both are myth, I guess. I own both and I am very happy! |

| Legendary is the word you're looking for. Or Epic. Mythical implies there is some doubt to how real it is - like the Greek Myths. |

Yes, you are right. Legendary is the correct word. |

Boss has had a lot of firsts over the years, and as far as I'm aware, the DD-2 was the first 'stomp-box' digital delay. |

ok, legendary is a better word...
another question could be: is a pedal legendary only when another manufacturers trie to duplicate it?.. |

| Well...i don't think so. I think is regarding how many "guitar heroes" uses them. About the sound quality and the age as well. I think when a pedal has its name carved in the music's history, it is a legendary pedal. |

I don't agree with the "guitar heroes" use, the success of a pedal can be considered by the amount of users (famous or not-famous bands)and the feedback that goes with it, and I know many things that are (or were) used by legendary guitarists that nobody knows about... |

I wrote "guitar heroes" not guitar heroes. Between quotation marks. They can be famous or not, on the spotlight or not, but good guitar players anyway. Did you understand? |

| I think some consideration should be given to how long a pedal has been around. Just look at the DS-1. There seems to be an un-ending demand for this pedal that Boss/Roland keeps making it. |

I agree with the DS1 legendary status because of its success, and I will also consider the DC2 a legend, but for another reason: the fact that it's the only pedal of its kind and that a lot of manufacturers have tried to emulate this effect in their rackmount stuff and multi-effects, calling that the "dimension" sound.. without forgetting that the pedal itself is a re-creation of the famous roland SDD-320 dimension D!! |

I'm with Nibla all the way! The DC-2, to me, is a legend. I really want one. Didn't Andy Summers use one? Even if he didn't, I'll always associate The Police with that pedal.
The DS-1 to me is quite legendary. The fact that it has been running this long and has barely changed really is a testament to the good basic design of this pedal. |
