Hi and welcome to the forum. The DF-2 is one of my favorite distortion pedals. Very smooth but still edgy and agressive (sounds contradictory, doesn't it?). The feedback feature is a fun gimmick that I haven't seen on any other pedal. It's not very useful in a band situation but the sound of the pedal is still excellent. Where you can find one depends where in the world you are. Ebay is always a good place to start. |

well sorry guys don't hate me but i've had 2 of them and ended up selling them. it's basically a DS-1 with the "feedback" feature. and as the ds1, it's just too shrill, somehow. i don't know if i've just had some lemons (silver screw ds1 version and all) but all these orange boss units are just too fragile, yeah, shrill again. even with the tone knob. and if you play thru a fender or jc120... yer screwed. forget your ears.
i prefer the overdrive/distortion, the turbo overdrive or -what i've been using for the last couple of years- two old sd-1s.
but it's fun to fool around with, have fun!
Pat. |

I agree with Pacafeliz. I too have had 2, sold one on ebay, and hung on to the other, but just kept it in its box because of the rarety.
Recently I put it up on ebay, but didnt sell, and now Im giving it second thoughts to test it out again. From what I remember, it wasnt useful at all, and used it only as a boost. But maybe my opinion will change. I like the warp function on the DD-6 a lot more than the feedback function on the DF-2. I recomend you try out both before buying one.
I have an absoultely mint in box DF-2 if you want, I might sell it. Send me a PM if youre interested |

ya i would say its more of a collectors thing/novelty item. i really only kick on the feedback thing when im joking around at the end of a solo to make people laugh. its really just a DS-1 that sells for $75 more in my opinion. |

Yea thats the only reason why I keep mine.
You can still find a lot of them popping up around though, so its not really too rare. I see then for even as low as $50 sometimes |

If you want something rare with collectors value, make sure you get the Super Distortion & Feedbacker. That was the original name of the DF-2 pedal until DiMarzio threatened to sue for copyright infringement. Boss then changed the name to Super Feedbacker & Distortion. The original is rarer and more valuable. |
