One of these are on my list this month but I can't seem to choose.
I have a 10% off coupon to Guitar Center that effectively pays my tax which makes it cheaper by $8 than Sweetwater with no shipping cost.

The microXL would replace my M-Audio KeyRig25 MIDI controller & give me a desktop synth engine to boot.
Of course the Electribe beatmaking video is just so fuggen cool. I've always wanted something like it. FL-Studio 9 be damned...

I'm such a professed hardware junkie.
Anyone got a double-headed quarter?

I'd go with a MicroKorg XL.

But... aren't the keys smaller than usual (they were on the original MicroKorg).

On a serious note...

Does the MicroXL have smaller keys than a piano?

Yes, they're short & blocky but with a full profile like piano or "waterfall keys" for palm glissandos:

I'm not sure how much the tubes in the Electribe will do.. they're from the era of Korg gear when they put a tube in everything, often with insufficient power to really utilize them to full effect (see the Vox Bulldog and Big Ben pedals, also the Triton EX (I think that was the series). Some people say they have a light bulb behind them to simulate the glow..

The microkorg is an amazing tool. nice choice!!

The Electribe is great.. just what I wanted (unlike the MPC500).

I have a learning curve ahead but maybe this old white-boy just might find some rhythm after all.
Remember Navin R. Johnson (The Jerk)?

The tubes sound good 'nuff to warrant their inclusion.
Some guys feed their microKorgXL into it & vice-versa so both units work off each other well.
I think I'll be happy with the unit(s).
