As all of us know sometimes there are screws for the bottomplates missing when we buy old Boss pedals, and we sure dont like it! I have asked Roland Scandinavia for extras, but they dont have them. Otherwise Roland is very, very helpful. The reason for this is that the screws dont have any order-number so Roland cant order them from Boss..... I suppose this is valid for all other countries... But Roland told me what kind of screws it is: 3 x 6 B1 FeBC This is a standard screw but very hard to find, in my experience.

| The hardware stores around here all tell me that black self tapping screws don't exist unless they're specially ordered. Not sure if that's true but would explain why these aren't available anywhere. |

thanks for the tip, Goran; I have a CE-2 missing two screws, and have been unable to locate replacements locally.
I'm somewhat confused by their nomenclature (3 x 6 B1 FeBC); so this is a metric thread, e.g. M3 x 6 mm??? |

| Yes it is metric, Japan and the most of the world use metric, except for USA. Guess if we non-american swears a lot over this... |

| Related to this topic: I have a silver screw BF2 that has two of the screws broken off inside the holes. Anyone have any tips on removing these so they can be replaced? |

| boss freak, check your local hardware store to see if they sell a special screw-extractor (either as a standalone tool, like a screwdriver, or as a bit for screw/drill guns). I've never used one myself, but they supposedly work wonders extracting broken screws out of wood. a broken screw in a metal hole might be more difficult, though.... |

Do as pawnshop says but after you drilled the little hole I suppose is needed oil the outside of the screw. I have removed broken tremolobars with this method. |

| Hmmm... I had a screw extractor and it went missing. I don't remember seeing one that was small enough for the screw holes on a Boss pedal though. I'll have to look again. Thanks! |

| Has anybody actually tried to order these screws from anywhere else? I'm looking at McMaster-Carr which is the source for all things hardware-parts-wise and I definitely can't find anything black, at least in machine screws (these are machine screws, right?). I'm assuming by "FeBC" we are talking about iron, boron, and carbon, typical steel (I'm surprised it doesn't rust). Black is probably black-oxide finish (some corrosion protection). All that I have got are zinc-plated steel, plain stainless steel, and plastic. Nothing is said about self-tapping. If it's self-tapping (i.e. has this little notch in the bottom) does that mean that it is not a machine screw? Someone with more knowledge than me on this topic? |

If anybody sometimes find these screws buy lots of them. Then you can sell/trade with all of us that needs 10-20 of them. If I find them Ill do that. |

| I went to an Ace Hardware location (a chain of small, indepedent stores in the USA). They usually have the best selection of fastening hardware, much better than the big-box chains. The guy working the fasteners section helped me find a small sheet metal screw that fits the hole. Keep in mind that the head is slightly smaller, it uses a #1 phillips head instead of #2, and the tip is pointed instead of flat self-tapping. But the important part is that it fits the hole, and it also has a black chromate finish, so colorwise it matches the other screws. If anybody can't find good replacements I'll buy you some and sell them to you. I'll probably set a minimum quantity on your order. |

Great Walrus! But someone have to do the screws for Boss... I would certainly want to buy some screws from you if you are willing to buy a larger supply. |

| About 20 would be fine for me, but how to do with payment? I have no pay-pal. Maybe I have some parts to Bosspedals you need? |
