I got a piece of music composed by a friend on the e-mail last week. It was one of the most beautiful pieces Ive heard in a long time, if I should call it something it is Soundscapes. There was no great guitar playing or something like that, just pure music that greatly interacts with your soul. And gives a lot of inspiration. Some of you probably would have a hard time understand this kind of music, it takes some time to get it, but when you do the award is great.
Do you know who made this wonderful music?
Well, our friend from Australia: Dr Bob
Thanks a lot Dr Bob for letting me hear it!

Hi Goran Thanks for the positive comments, about my: SOUNDSCAPE -- Lynbrook. And thanks for the little push, to setup a link to the file.
For those of you that might be interested. But don't expect wailing guitar tones & 200 Boss pedal effects. This from my Experimental Concept Album/s Best to listen to it with stereo Headphones & in a quiet place.
My friend Mike was kind enough to create the /DrBob directory on his Apache Server.
The file is here: NOTE the file is about 10 Megs in size Dr. Bob Lynbrook SoundScape Bob Bradac Copyright 2007 http://www.technical-services.com.au/DrBob/Lynbrook128.mp3
If you leave off the file name, you will see the browser, and you can download it from there, Say hi to Mike if you get a chance.

Do yourself a favour and give an ear or two for Dr Bobs music, I know this isnt his main musical style, rather an experiment. My whole family really likes Lynbrook, it talk to you in a special way whether youre into heavy metal or just plain ol blues.
Dr Bob: Did you receive my e-mail with a more in depth review?
And the big question: How did you do it?

Hi Goran
Thanks - check your Fuzzface PM. I sent you a L-ong email reply about 40 mins ago.
Thanks for the push to post the link, please download the higher quality version of the file, from Mikes server. I couldn't send you a 10M file as an attachment.
Regards Dr. B b
PS... Sp-1 I have used the smiley in place of the "o" in Bob a few times, but thanks for noticing it... |

| Great music. I'd also like to "hear" how you pieced it together & what equipment you used. Do you own a synth? |

Gah! I paid $130/mo for dual-channel ISDN (128kbps) for a few years. It was expensive, but ANYTHING besides dialup. It was almost worth it for the reliability. We now return you to your regularly scheduled B b. |

Hi sp-1 & Guys
Thanks for all your positive comments, and support, of this new & experimental music that I have been working on. It has been such a huge step, away from what I play from day to day. But it is, as Goran put "Music that interacts with the soul"
I have listened to it for about 2.5 to 3 years now, & I wasn't sure, if I should release it, In some ways, I was inspired by the music that Goran, Bax his son & Goran's wife released recently.
So I sent a copy to Goran, I somehow just felt, that he would be able to understand what I was doing & where I was trying to go with my SoundScapes.
I was also pushed a bit, by a few of my close friends. Plus I felt that now, might be the right time to let it go.
I never imagined that it would elicit such strong feelings, emotions & comments from those that listen to it.
And in a way that has inspired me to continue with my experimental work.
Thanks to all of you again... Dr. Bob |

Dr Bob. im at my girlfriends this weekend and i finally had a listen and i dig this stuff, it reminded me so much of something that the guitarist Buckethead would put out. some of you may know him as the guitarist that joined GnR to replace slash a few years ago (bad move. please dont judge him on this ). his style is insane. its either pure full on Malmsteen style shred or crazy techno style sqeels or 6 minutes of beautiful ambient loops. hes the guy that does the song "Jordan" on guitar hero 2.
Dr Bob if you want music that interacts with your soul, i know you would definately appreciate songs like Whitewash, Mantaray or Electric Tears. also check out his version of If 6 was 9.
keep up the good work Dr Bob. its nice to hear people doing different things with the guitar.

Dr Bob: Keep on doing your soundscapes, and if possible let us hear more of it. I have listened to the down-load with better sound quality and this has of course more details to it. I have listened quite a few times to it the last weeks and I never get tired of Lynbrook.
I just wonder how you did all of it, guitar or synthesizer?

Hi Goran
Thanks for your continuing support, I am working on a longer version of Lynbrook at the moment. I have had many requests to make it an entire CD. As some people thought it was too short, & it seemed to end, just as they were becoming engrossed in it. (chillin' out).
I have also been experimenting with a new SoundScape. But I just can't seem to get into it, at the moment.
As I wrote to you in a PM, I have been considering doing a whole series of these SoundScape CD long tracks. each one of a different place, that I have lived in, visited, or dreamed about.
Goran I know that you, and many others, are very keen to learn, what equipment & techniques I use to produce these SoundScapes. But for now, I feel a little reluctant to divulge my production techniques. I hope you understand my reasons, I have spent many countless hours experimenting & developing the methods I use in Lynbrook.
For now, I hope that you can just enjoy Lynbrook, for what it is.
I will post links to the next track, but It's still a long way off. most of it is still in my head.
I never expected that reaction that I received, I guess I sort of put the SoundScapes idea on the rear burner.
Regards Dr. Bob |

OK, Dr Bob, I understand your reluctance to tell us about the technique about your soundscapes. Fair enough, but I suppose you understand that I and others are scratching our heads. The fist things I and Bax did caused some stirs in the psychedelic circles, totally unexpected, so we also got our backs burned.
