Good stuff...thx.

Funny I just read the review for the Analogman Bi-Comprossor, which I own.

Couldn't disagree more with some of the issues he has.

Sure some stuff is subjective, but the generation of noise and hiss is not. Unless my ears have gotten that bad

he is however spot on when it comes to the White Finger compressor from Electro Harmonix.

sounds wicked (compression wise) but the white noise is unbareable

Very good reviews, he does explain how he reviewed the compressors, and we have to keep in mind he is a bassplayer, or reviewing from the angle of a bassplayer.

I think compressors are those effects which grow on you as time goes by, and it is nice to own a few of them to understand them better.

good article....i see the Boss CS-3(modded) is one of his best in terms of all round construction and performance.. even stock i still think it's a decent pedal..certainly not as bad as some make out....and as Visser said,he is reviewing from a perspective of a bass player..

Lots of detail, but he really needs a CS-2.

Good point i recently tried my modded cs-3 vs. a stock cs-3 the modded one had a little bit better of a tone seemed a little warmer then the stock version with less noise. but that what you get with a modded pedal. over all not too much of a dramatic improvement just a little

Agreed. I said somewhere on this forum a while back that compressors are prob the most misunderstood and under (or over) used fx out there.
