Hi Goran You are welcome to send any pics you want. Mine were taken under a kitchen lighting at about 1AM one morning. I used some extra White LED torch to light the darker areas.
Can I ask you to PM the S/N of your unit? And does yours have the floating FET hanging off the PCB?
You can see the S/N of mine in the extra pics I sent you.
I'll tell you more once I can test it in the daytime. If you check your international clocks. You'll see that almost everyone here is sleeping at the moment. I see it's about 2:45Pm your time.
Regards Dr. Bob |

I set the pedal as you suggested in the PM to me, very low volume and bad tone. I suspected either thr tube or the op amps, changed tube, not better. Then I looked closer at the tube socket, oxides.... Contact cleaner and....... it worked just fine Sound very good too |

I have now played some more with the Overlord and damn if not Dr Bob was right, it is a very good sounding pedal. When I tested it at first I was sure Dr Bob hade Alzheimers, or had been corrupted by Dean Markley As Ive had three pedals using tubes the last time, Blackstar HT-Drive and Vox Big Ben, I like the Overlord much more than the Blackstar. Big Ben is better with my taste of overdrive, but for raunchy rock n roll I think Overlord is close.

Hi Goran I'm really glad to hear that it was a simple fix. And that your faith in my ear for tone has been restored.
I was really shocked when you mentioned that the Tube Overlord was better to your ears, than the Blackstar HT-Drive.
And I was GAS'sing for one of the (3)? different models. I guess you have saved me some money for now.
I have been having a lot of musical fun with the one I bought, a few weeks back. Sorry to hear that yours does not have a serial number plate, on the bottom of the pedal.
I will be testing it out with a 12AU7 instead of the 12AX7 currently in it. Did you mention that it was quieter & had a better tone, when you swapped out the stock 12AX7 for one of your JJ Tubes?
I also have a couple of 12AT7's with an even lower mu.
I have been trying to redraw the schematic that you can find on the web, it's a bit old & grubby, with a few dark patches on it, where someone used a dark highlighter pen to mark the original sch. before they scanned it.
Regards Dr. Bob |

Two new non boss pedals.
Lauries custom made HZD pedal (serial no. 003 ) Lauries custom made VSG swell pedal
HZD: I originally bought this for when i was supposed to be getting a tube amp, next year. Because as Lauries slogan states, "if you own a tube amp, you NEED this pedal". But i havent gotten my amp yet so i just had to try it out, even though my current amp is a Solid state Randall 100 watt. It works awesome as a clean boost, or dirty, it has replaced my SD-1. It sounds soooo good and the craftsmanship is awesome. Everyone should buy one! I didnt stop playing for 2 hours when i first got it

VSG: I bought this because i have an SG-1 but i kinda dont want to use it and get it damaged, so i purchased this. Its an EXACT copy, maybe even better i think. You should get one of these also. Same thing, the craftsmanship is fantastic.

I seriously doubt these 2 pedals will come off my board.
P.S, Dr.Bob, i noticed on the HZD pedal the "Certification" note. |

Laurie's VSG looks awesome... very dark and mysterious... If it does sound better than an SG-1, I might have to bug him for one when he makes another run... |

Does Laurie make a compressor? I find the CS-3 a bit complicated and the CS-2 too expensive for what it does... You know, I'm a player rather than a collector |

Not yet....
The Keeley 4 knob is getting good reviews, but is way up there in price. |

My HZD is on the board now for a last few weeks and has survived so far intact even in one of the most hostile enviroment gigs we do where punters regularly fall on top of my gear and pedals and have to be helped off either by the bouncers or my size 11 boot... the clarity and sound quality is brillant and i also agree with Jake(hate and war)..i have used it direct to the PA after the amp died and into a solid state marshall in rehearsals with great results,i use mine not to drive the amp into distortion but as a clean boost with a little bit of bite or to push my twintube overdrive pedal into meltdown.... sounds great either way.... ..P.S 001...
On a side note about Gorans experience with the overlord pedal..i was having problems with my marshall head and one day over the hols i stripped it and cleaned all the inputs/outputs and the valve socket bases with Servsol electricial switch cleaner...back working great i reckon a new set of preamp and poweramp tubes in the new year will be the icing on the cake....so before fearing the worst a through cleaning of this stuff can work wonders... |

I traded four pedlas (DS-2, Marshall Jackhammer, EHX DynaComp and Nano Muff) for a Mad Professor Fire Red Fuzz. Handmade in Finland, list price around US$ 300. Its a really great fuzz with a voice of its own. One of the best I ever tried. It hurted a bit with four pedals leaving, but none of them was used often. |

I think you made a good trade as those Mad Professor pedals have a great rep....was the dyna comp one of the new ones...?..if so it's easily replaced.. |
