Hi all
I'm off to France on hols next weeek with the clan so i had to get someone to fill my shoes for a couple of weeks in the band....we have tried out a few guys we had recommended to us but...and i have to be honest here they just were not up for it,we cover a wide rage of stuff in our band and one of the most important aspects in rhythm guitar as we are a four piece with no keys.....i was shocked with the fact some of them couldn't hold down a straight 12 bar blues on the rhythm side of things and any sort of country/sun studios/early elvis was out of the question...rock licks just don't sit right in this stuff..the rhythm in reggae also seemed to throw them out..and not all of these guys are that young... ...Anyway there is light at the end of the tunnel.... i rang my friend who i have played with over the years and his son gigs with him now in a two piece...he came down to a rehearsal last night and immediataly was able to' sit in' a lot of this is to do with IMHO the fact his father listens and plays a wide range as well,it's good to be 'adaptable' if considering a future in playing bars/weddings/parties etc.... as this has now got him playing with a real live band for a couple of weeks (he is delighted) and also the fact ( which i'm very looking forward to) is that if my plane lands on time on the day i'm coming back i can 'sit in' on the gig on that sunday night and we can have a monster jam..... he also has 2 strats, some boss pedals,a real nice fat sounding tubescreamer and 4 valve amps...70's twin.JTM 60,his dad's old superbass head and a small vox of some description.... is suppose it helps when all your family are musos....he found the superbass in a shed out he back.... ...... |

guitar hero is kinda fun. oddly enough, without that game i probably wouldn't be back into playing music right now (it was what i played while waiting for my finger to heal up).

Hi Jack I can just see the future posts:
Is that a real Gib-Tendo? -- Lawsuit era Firebird clone. Is there much were on the neck buttons? Is it MIJ MIT MIC MII? Is it pre or post RoHS leadfree solder? Does it have a CE approval sticker? Is it come with the original S/W? What ver. of S/W does it come with? Do you have the original Box & Manuals?
Yeah Jack! your right, the grey-gray plastic models are becoming rarer.

heh.
oddly enough due to gibson's corporate bylaws they actually had to sue activision for the controllers that resemble gibson guitars...
even though they were affiliated with gibson in the game, etc. there was a thing in the legal department that basically said gibson had to sue.
no one's referring to the controllers are pre and post lawsuit models yet though :P |
