before i decide to dedicate my life to owning one of these i was wondering how exactly they work...i'm aware they only have 800ms of delay and thats fine but my question is when you make a sample do you have to hold down the pedal to have it going like the DD-3 or do you just press it once to engage it?...and also, you can vary the pitch of the sample by turning the Delay Time knob right?...

and lastly, could anyone give me their opinions on it?...i'd like to hear what you guys think...

any help would be great guys...thanks in advance...

I have the DSD-2. First of all. Ive heard that its the "best" sounding digital delay that Boss made. And I have to say that it really sounds warm and not much digital att all. I use it for short delays at 200ms and its great. But the sampler thing is not like the newer loopstation thing, cause the recorded phrase is erased after cut of the ac adapter. I dont know if it remember the recorded phrase when using batteries, but I dont think so. I recorded a fart and happily mounted it in my pedalboard and went to rehearsal to make a joke to my bandmembers, but the fart was gone... Anyway, its a great pedal. Its quite rare too.

I have a DSD-2 a DD-5 and a RV-3 and I think that the DSD-2 has a bit softer edge to it than the other two.
I found this quote in the manual;
"*the sound is sustained until the power is turned off or different mode is selected."

Here is the link for the DSD-2 manual;
