I was trying to modify my OS-2, and i think i broke it. I switched out D7 D8 and D9 for red LEDs, and somewhere in that time, half the signal died. D7 lights up and passes a signal, but D8 and D9 do nothing. The signal sounds extremely compressed and asymmetrical. The diodes themselves are not the problem, as i have checked each one and swapped them all out, with no change at all. Any one have any ideas what i could have done wrong, or what i may have fried?

Hi shinychrome0

Welcome to the forum from Australia

Nice screen name, most of us like our chrome shinny.

As for your OS-2 issue.
Please upload some closeup pics of the front & back of the PCB.

It can be difficult to help remotely sometimes.
And as they say, a picture (a not Blurry) is worth a thousand words.
Which OS-2 mod are you doing?

Some things to check & think about meantime:

Are the LED's-diodes in (all) the correct way around?
--LED's have a flat spot on the plastic, to denote the Cathode.
Is your soldering of good quality?
Have you possibly cracked or lifted a/some track/s?
-- check this with a good 3x magnifier, in daylight.
If you put it all back to normal, does it now still function?
Check for little splashes of solder that may be shorting out some parts/tracks.

Good luck

Regards Dr. Bob

I found that the track is lifted under all three clipping diodes. Is there any way to repair this or should i list it on ebay for scrap?

the circled area is the lifted track. it must be broken under the solder.
