Does anyone one know if the serial numbers apply to their amps? It would make sense for the company to have one s/n format. Punched in 531559 and came up with April '85
I think they do but it's completely unconfirmed. The old 6-digit numbers used on equipment made before 1981 will not decode properly but later numbers seems to match.
I've tried it with a couple of Roland products that I have lying around here. And it seemed to work. I still have the sales dockets for the items, & the years were a close match.
Whenever I see a paper-label Roland product I try to decode the thing in my head - I've found they all match up to the (approximate) dates we usually work with.. I remember a nice 1985 Octopad, and an '84 bass amp which was really nice. Does this cross some kind of nerd-boundary??
