| Can anyone hook me up with the DD-5 schematic? I bought a broken DD-5 and thought i'd try my luck at fixing it myself. |

I was not able to locate one. You might have to contact Roland to order a service manual.
What's wrong with it exactly, by the way? I'd personally be a little leery of going into one of these myself -- my gut feeling is that it's going to be a multi-layer board with a lot of LSI and surface-mount components... not quite conducive to home repair. But if your issue is peripheral (input or output driver, silent switching circuit, power supply, etc.) it might be doable. This is just a guess on my part, as I've never seen the inside of one, though I have repaired a few DD-2s (but I think that these are going to have more discrete component circuitry and a less complex main board than a DD-5 or DD-6).
C.K.

Received the pedal today. Nothing wrong with the exterior or the battery cables, but on the inside it would seem that the one blue wire is disconnected from anything. It's soldered to the right lead of the input, but not connected to anything else.
Plugging the pedal in shows power, but the LED is orange rather than red, and kicking the pedal on and off doesnt do anything.
Any ideas where this blue cable may go? I still cant find the schematic for it. |

This would lead us to one of those wonderful moments when someone else here who has a DD-5 takes a look inside of his to see where that blue wire goes, and perhaps posts a photo here to show you.
We have one fellow here who likes arranging these into circles in his garden... (hint, hint )

Is the DD-5 one of these thingy's with double PCBs in them. I got so many new gray hairs when I was working on my PS-2 that I promised myself never to open one of those doubledeckers again.
But I've almost forgotten about that now so I might have a peek... |

I've had a look at mine. The blue lead goes from the input to the switch where it is soldered to the same terminal as the black lead.
Interesting also to find that the PCB in the DD-5 has Made in Taiwan and a date code of the YYWW format printed on it. |

Thanks Bossarea! Sounds like an easy fix. Too bad I already sent the pedal to a Boss service center Ah well, at least it wont cost that much then. |
