Hi Bossarea & Guys When I went shopping on New years Eve. I found a Boss DF-2 Super feedbacker & distortion, MIJ black label 7/10 condition, very faded serial number, almost impossible to read, under house lighting. I don't see many of these around.
I also found a MXR Jimi Hendrix System FUZZ UNIT Aust$45. In very good condition, say 9/10, no manual, no brainer 2 knob pedal.
I know I should ask this in the Non-Boss pedals thread, but. Does anyone know much about these, I could only find one on EvilBay Japan. It couldn't find any info on it at the Dunlop MXR site, or after a one hour plus, session on Google.
It seems to have a couple of MPS18 or MPSA18 transistors in it, it looks like the RED Classic Fuzz, but it's black, with only Fuzz Unit written on it.
It looks to be a very simple circuit, low component count, maybe even a copy of the old Fuzz face, I thinks the MPSA18'a are silicon & not Germanium transistors. Still other than for a flat battery, not bad sounding. (the date code on the 9V battery looked to be 2004)

I just bought a Deluxe Memory Man and a USA Big Muff. The Memory Man is a bit of an investment with them being discontinued and all, it's a slightly older one in the wooden box (opposed to the cardboard efforts EHX pedals are in these days). I must have drunk a lot on christmas because Pride (In the Name of Love) never sounded so good, and I hate U2, but I've been GASsing for one ever since. The Big Muff was an impulse buy because they were £44.50 delivered from one seller who had 12 as a 'new years deal' I could hardly refuse. |
