What if Boss started manufacturing guitars, and you can have like built-in boss effects incorporated onto it. I know it might not work in the real world and it might ruin their reputation but still it would be interesting to see something like a prototype made.
The second guitar I ever owned was a Matsushita Strat copy ( Japanese ) that had a built-in tube screamer, phaser, and wah! It was built into the guitar behind the bridge and was controlled by I believe 9 dip switches. Heavy as heck but I still wish I had that thing. Purchased at Whittaker Music in California in the mid to late 80's.
Roland had a couple of guitars on their lineup in the 80s as part of their then new guitar synthesizers. They eventually stopped making them and concentrated on the synth and the GK pickup. I think they know how hard it is to break into the guitar market and will rather focus on their core business.
Fantastic! Can I order one up in a 24 fret, with a cutaway, custom logo on the 12th fret and I'll probably want Fralin's? Oh, one more thing - switchable Japanese/Taiwan mode?
