jeez.....your really digging in now kulten....... i remember the song and the album....but it isn't on the album...he(mike oldfield) has a funny way of releasing singles as a seperate thing from his albums..they tend to be a bit more....'mainstream' not to say that they are bad..far from it.... ......great guitar player.... |

 ......i know the feeling 'bro....
wish you were here..and just about anything from the floyd does it for me,mike oldfield is good as well... ...i enjoyed tubular bells 3 although i don't think it went down well with the critics..as far as know he was living in ibiza at the time so i imagine thats why it has a more techno feel to it...i wonder if kulten has heard it and what he thinks of it.... |

Yeah!!!
"Do do do do do do do do... do do do do do do do... tonight..."
A great song and a great album although many shouts to traitors of the hard rock cause.
I loved it in any particular:
the cover: finally with the faces and the make-up so clear and well definited

the poster inside: one of the best shot of the group (I still remember my kid room with this poster)

the labels with the same picture of the poster, instead of the same Casablanca label

the inner dust sleeve, so coloured

I own it in 8 tracks too

Ehhhhh... (whisper) youthness gone that doesn't come back anymore... |

Some Girls by the Rolling Stones from 1978, still can remember going into the shop with my dad [ who had to pay for it!!] and listening to the first song on the album, it was a sunny day in June, and I still feel there is a summerfeel to this album.
Still play this album today and still sounds great after all those years, and it is a great Stones album too, with great guitarsounds, I feel like they never did get that sound anymore after this one.
Goran mentioned "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love", I really liked that album as well.
Did get some more Stones albums after this one, and for a while I prefered the older albums from the mid 60s, especially the "Everybody Needs" one, used to jam along with this one on harmonca, as most of it sounded fine no matter what you played, as long as you had the right key, but then even just a one key harmonca fiited well over a lot of these songs. |

Great great single from the LIve in Budakan album, it did put Cheap Trick on the map.
Tried a whole album of them much much later [ sometime around 2000] but did feel that much of the music was very similar, I guess they are a great live act with a lot of fun and jumping around, but for the listeningexperience they may be a little disappointing. |

I've revaluated Cheap Trick in recent years, before I've figured 'em like a "light" hard rock group (sorry for the game word!) with this strange guitarist with strange guitars, but I admit that hearing their works I've found many good songs and "Live at Budokan" it's a great record. |
