I can imagine. However, I personally would surely never need quite THAT much in a looper. |

Keeley modded RAT (hell yeah! ), Digitech Bad Monkey (can get an almost identical sound as my TS9 and a Korg DT-10 tuner (black).
Not Boss pedals, but I own so many of those already (last Boss additions RC-2 and DM-2) |

I thought I did, until I lived with it for a few months. Three independant loops, twenty minutes of recording time...
...sounds great, until you realise you spend most of your time overdubbing one loop. And, the thing is freakin' huuuuge.
Would be a wonderful performance tool, though. |

Hey Some Weird Sin
Those Bad Monkey's are really great (Sic). Such an underrated pedal. Like a vintage TS-808 screamer with way better tone controls. and CHEAP.... Don't know how we'll go fixing them, they're all surface mount.
Most people don't know they have a second output, with like cab sim on it, to go direct to the mixer - recording deck.
What mods does Keeley do to the RAT? Does he change the op-amp as well?

Don't know exactly what the PCB may look like, but some surface mount work can be done by (a very steady) hand. Also any tweezer type soldering irons are helpful. Additionally, in an electronics class I am taking, they mounted surface mount components using solder paste and a heat gun. There was also a way they soldered surface mount stuff by placing the PCB on a hot plate. I have a link to some video links of these techniques somewhere, if interested. |

Hi Jack
We have all the SMD-SMT repair CARP at work BGA reworking station Hot tweezers & a Carp load of adapters for them Vacuum pickup devices Hot re-flow jets And all the Micro solders, pastes & Fluxes.
But it's still a pain in the Butt. Even under the 20X stereo scope.
I Would still be interested in the Videos that you mentioned.

It is a great pedal. I was very impressed indeed. And for that price ...!

Sorry, don't know what you mean by that?

Don't really know about the technical stuff (see Keeley's website), I just really dig the sound. I was using a vintage RAT for my main distortion and was getting increasingly paranoid about breaking it (I gig with it a lot), so I trying to kill 2 birds with 1 stone I thought if I'm going to buy a backup I might as well see/hear if Keeleys reputation is deserved. On that note: I love the phat mode on my new RAT. The other two modes sound great too.

| You know, I really like the TW-1. I've had the one on the left for a month or two, and I think it's a terrific filter / envelope follower. |

Seen another pedal on craigslist at a price that I couldn't turn down. MIT NS-2 Noise Suppressor for $30 and in fair shape, so I bought it. He had a MIT DS-1 in worse condition for the same price, so needless to say I turned that one down. I gave it a try and it seems to work, it even controls the feedback somewhat on my K.O.Rea and Co. strat. So far I haven't used the loop. I could put it where my PSM-5 is, but I like the way the guitar plugs in on the top of the PSM-5 and I spent quite a bit of time looking for that PSM-5. Anyway where to put it will give me something to think about, as having two loops available to me opens a lot of possibilities. Like the possibility of having to buy or make up some different sound cables. So; 22 Boss Compacts 2 Boss Rocker Wah's 1 Schaller volume pedal I now have 7 pedals sitting in the dresser drawer, so I'll have to watch for another BCB-6. I need one to put the pedals into and the NS-2 was to good a deal to pass up, so the GAS doesn't come into play at all. I'm cured. |
