Hi,
Working on an MD-2 and Q23 is missing. (Buffer) I need the value of this if anyone could provide this please. It's not shown on my schematic, also I'm aware of others I can use, but this customer is dead set on the exact factory spec/part.
Thanks in advance,
MH

Hi Mark Humphrey Welcome to the forum from Australia.
Can I ask why Q23 was missing? Did you get it faulty, or was it some kind of incomplete mod?
I don't have the MD-2 service notes, so assuming Q23 is the output buffer. You should be able to replace it with any low noise general purpose audio grade transistor. It's just a simple low impedance out emitter follower.

Thanks for the warm welcome Dr. Bob, and also to the fella who gave me the part #. It's a rescue after an attempted mod in which Q23 was removed in favor of a jumper wire somehow. The guy wants me to get it back to stock and working again. It's not anymore interesting than that I'm afraid.
Thanks,
MH

Just out of curiosity, was he trying a known mod or was he experimenting and making up his own? Just wondering because I've haven't heard of any MD-2 mods yet or seen any offered on mod sites.
