hey guys! this is my first post and i just want some help identifying this seeing eye/ultra-modded DS-1 i purchased 2 years ago. can't seem to find any serial number in there and i find it a little odd. here are some pics:

Hi hellopain

Welcome to the forum from Australia.

Look in the battery compartment, under the foot pedal part.
it will be a paper label under where the battery sits.

Or printed in black ink just above the foot switch.

It looks modded, LED in Tone and a switch in Distortion

Those paper-label serials don't always last. The fact that it has an ACA jack suggests it's probably really Japanese.'

If you can make out a date code on the pots or on any ICs then that'd give you a closer date of production for your pedal.

Thats part of the Seeing Eye mod, the Tone led flashes to the clipping

Looks like you have on with the paper label that has gone MIA
Missing In Action.

I have a few pedals like that, & one really annoys me, the serial is there, but has faded from a leaking battery.

I have done extensive C.S.I. manipulation of the label to see if I can work out what the serial once was, but to luck.

Just be thankful that your DS-1 IS an MIJ & enjoy it.
And Christo is right, it appears to have had a SEM (seeing Eye Mod)
and that is one of the more fashionable mods that can be dome to a DS-1.

Laurie has been doing a lot of the SEM for local muso's in his area.
He swears by the mod...

you could take a picture of the top of the board to get the board revision. that should give some idea on a year.

my guess is 1982-1986
