Hi paradigm_shift and welcome to the forum.
I've never thought about that but I guess the only way to find out is to try. Don't know if it will work but I can't imagine that you'd break anything (although I can't guarantee it).

Hi paradigm_shift
Welcome to the forum from Australia.
Member One-Way. Is also from N.Z. way, but I don't know from which island. He has made a couple of really nice guitars. And speaker cabs.

Hi paradigm_shift. I have one of these pedals (and the excellent FDR-1 too). You cannot use the pedal in the way you've described...it's a case of using either the regular input or the bright input but not both simultaneously.
I'd be interested to know how you have yours set up. I run mine into the clean channel of a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp. It sounds awesome to my ears, as does the FDR-1. Great pedals that work well with tube amps. Would love to hear Boss do an AC30 or a Marshall JCM800 pedal. Now what would be awesome!
What is slightly odd though...when I first got the FBM-1 home (I got this one before I got the FDR-1) and plugged it in to my HRDx, I was really disappointed as it sounded thin and raspy. Really horrible in fact. I checked the manual and checked the connections, settings, etc, but could not understand why I was getting such a horrible sound.
I played with the pedal's EQ, gain settings - everything. Still no joy. Still had this horrible sound.
I then had an idea. I run a BOSS GE-7 EQ in my FX loop. Would it make a difference if I unplugged the FX Loop cables? I thought of this because with the GE-7 on or off it hadn't made a difference - I still got a terrible sound.
As soon as I unplugged the cables from the Hot Rod Deluxe's FX loop the FBM-1 Bassman pedal started to roar! I have no idea why but even with just cables plugged in (not even with a pedal connected) to the FX loop of the amp, these pedals do not like it one bit. If anyone has any ideas as to why, I'd like to know!

Thank you DeFrag! I take it by your avatar you're a big Beatles fan? Same here.
The forum here seems a pretty cool place to hang out...some great information on the main site too. |

Will check out the toothpaste joke for sure!
Vegemite was of course forever immmortalised in the Men At Work song "Down Under". That's one of my favourite lines in that song. A classic.
"I said do you speak-a my language? He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich". Brilliant!!! |
