I'm a RECENT Boss fan, used to be diehard DOD & EH guy back in the 80's, then went to rack-gear, & now back to the pedals with some rack-gear still involved. My question really pertains to just a few items involving whether they are analog or NOT.
BF-2 flanger, DC-3 chorus, DD-3 delay, OC-2 octave & SG-1 swell.
If some, or all of these swing both ways, is the determining factor & timeline - made in Japan vs. Taiwan???
Thanks for the insight, The-Destructor |

BF-2 = analog DC-3 = digital DD-3 = digital OC-2 = analog (i believe all of them were) SG-1 = analog
the line for digital versions of pedals = mid 2001 on the CH-1 and CE-5, and i'm not sure about other pedals. the OC-2 had a long run but i don't believe it had a digital counterpart. there weren't all that many modulation pedals that survived from before 2001 to after 2001.
it's likely that the BF-3 and PH-3, etc. were created because of the switch to digital.

Thank you Zentropa, I realize The "D"c-3 & the "D"d-3 was a stupid question in retro, so thanks for the straight-forward answer without a, possibly "well- deserved", slap in the chops. Many thanks, The-Destructor |
