Well I picked up this older Pyramid PA600X Amp for next to nuthin' $51.00 door to door. 300 watts x 2 @ 8 ohms 95watts rms. should fit the bill for now. At the very least it's not as ugly as the newer ones with the blue and purple paint on them. Ill let you know if it's worth it's salt or not, but at this price I couldn't pass it up

Physical appearance is just that TKO. Inner beauty is the key. Unfortunately for me, I fail all facets of the test. Hopefully for you, she pumps like a Saudi Arabian oil derrick. If not, you have a lovely $51 door stop or abbreviated step-stool. If I were currently courting a purchase as such, I'd jump without hesitation as well. Let us know how it flies.

Hey all, The amp arived today, had to run out to Rad-shack for some XLR connectors and make some cables but, the thing is wired up and it's pumping away as we speak. Sounds really great, plenty loud enough and even has some head room for more. I'm going to dial her up to 11, place the speakers on the floor face down, cover them with a bunch of blankets and let it run all night. I'm thinking "let's put this b*tch to the test right off the bat and see if it holds up"
So far I'm impressed for what I paid for it I'll let you know how it fares in the morning.

looking for another PA600X to push a pair of subs I want to build, 18" bass isn't bass unless you feel it in your belly
I've been searcning online for plans to a good DIY cab but so far I have been unsuccessful at locating anything useable.
Anyone have any recomendations? |
