Hello all,
I have a HA-5 Play Buz from Boss that I bought in 83, or 84. I can't find any info on it. I guess you would call it something like a walkman amp. It has head phones with a built in mic, Distortion, Chorus and delay built in to the box. Anyhow, if you have any info on this let me know. |

This is not compact pedal related so I moved the topic.
The HA-5 will be covered in the soon to be published other products area of the site. Here's the description I've written up for it.
HA-5 Headphone Amp, Play Bus
This small amp has a rather ambigous name. Is it Headphone Amp or is it Play Bus? Well, it's both. It was on the market from 1983-1988 (unconfirmed). The HA-5 is the same size and shape as a Sony Walkman (R) which happened to be the most popular portable music player at the time. It doesn't have a speaker but instead you play through the optional RH-11M stereo headphones.
The HA-5 has built-in overdrive, stereo chorus and stereo short delay functions. There is a microphone jack with a separate volume control. This makes the RH-11M headphones ideal as it has a muilt-in microphone. The Play Bus part of the HA-5 comes from the ability to connect several HA-5 units together. Using a Multiple Jack J-5 as many as 4 people can jam together over the play bus.
HA-5 Specifications Power: 9V DC (UM-3 x 6), PSA AC Adaptor Input Impedance: Input 470kOhm, Mic 2.2kOhm, Cassette (Line in) 47kOhm, Phones 8Ohm-300Ohm Play Bus input impedance: 10kOhm Dimensions: 90mm (W) x 120mm (H) x 42mm (D) (3.5" x 4.7" x 1.7") Weight: 350g (0.77 lbs.)

Sorry for posting in the wrong area.
Does anyone know what the value would be for one of these? I'm not looking to sell, but just curious. |

I saw that on an online shoopping site here in Japan. They sell it roughly 90-100 bucks. |

Not a lot, I'm afraid. The last one sold on Ebay went for $16. |

Thanks for the info. I thought it them being hard to find it might be worth something.
Maybe I can find the headset with mic then. It was a great little jamming unit. |
