Don't think so. Goran dug a bit into this and found that the black switch was larger so to fit it on a clear switch pedal you would have to enlarge the hole. If you replace a black switch with a clear, you would end up with parts of the hole exposed. Not easy to do this switch without it becoming obvious.

I've finally got a photo of some of the Boss pedals I've managed to stumble across in the last few months. The CE-2B Chorus is a 1990 and sounds fantastic...I use it for guitar and I actually like it better than my old CE-2. The OS-2 is a new-old-stock one which has been sitting at Andy's Music, the small music shop down the block from me, since 2000 or so (according to the serial number). Andy's is mainly known for its drum section, so the guitar section is small and has a lot of gear which hasn't moved in years. They even have a couple of new Power Driver pedals sitting in their boxes (I tried one...too much "muscle" for me!).
I also thought you would all like to see the 1980 silver-screw DS-1. I found it at the Chicago Guitar Show last fall and got it on trade for a germanium fuzz pedal. It even came with the box! If you look at the photo you can even see the Sam Ash inventory sticker. It sounds amazing with my Tele...I've actually been using it as a light overdrive...

Here's another picture of the old DS-1. Our rabbit Jackson seems to like this one the best...that is, when she isn't trying to "relic" my Les Paul Studio by chewing on the headstock!

Hi shortpunks (Brian)

Good to hear from you again.

Nice new collection, especially the SS DS-1 & the OS-2.

How much does Jackson charge to relic a Strat...
Give my regards to Pearl

The switch in my TW-1 is the original one for sure, I thought about what could be the explanation of the switch issue of mine and Bossareas. With my serial number, 9900, one should expect a black switch and I have checked several times, it reads 9900.
One thing that could have happened is that the stamp used was by mistake rolled a couple of numbers forward, and given a much higher number than the actual manufacturing date.
The future will tell if there will surface more relative high serial number TW-1 īs with the transparent switches.

Hi Bossarea & guys

OK! now this will be a mystery.
The PSM-5 arrived today, & it's definitely a Silver Screw.
The unit hardly looks used at all, except for a minor chip & a small scuff.
The grommet is as new, this thing looks like it was boxed up for a real long time.
Where the SS meets the metal, you can see that the serrations on the SS have left a circular scuff-mark, the same OD, outside-diameter as the SS.
A plastic thumb screw does not leave this type of circular mark.

Now here is an even greater mystery,
the serial number is:
513500 -- February 1985

I will try to take some pic's of the screw & marks using natural daylight.

The other great thing about the deal, was that the seller wanted to make sure the pedal wasn't damaged in the post, so he kindly packed it in two boxes, the inner one was a
vintage TW-1 box...

Other details:
Red Label - Unmarked as per type 6b but different. (metallic red-in this light)
Actually it's identical to the black type 6 label , just it's metallic red.
Serial number paper sticker, inside the battery compartment,
NOT on a silver sticker, on the rear label.
Black switch.

Regards Dr. Bob

Dr Bob;
I doubt the SS is original, but everything is possible, great find anyway.
There have been a lot of inconsistencies showing up on Boss pedals, so as usual the future will tell us more.
These thing really makes Boss collecting so interesting!

Sorry, but I don't believe that the screw is original on this one. The screw mark only tells us that the screw has been in there for a long time. For all we know, the black screw may have been replaced back in 1985 when the pedal was almost new.
