The pedal order goes from right to left. So the first pedal goes in the first slot (far right). Continue towards the left, adding each pedal in the order you want them. Once you've gotten to the end of the chain you want to see in front of the amp, connect the pedalboard -> amp cable there. You can of course use the board's inbuilt cables if you like - the main input is on the top right, and the output(s) are to the left. The "send" jack goes to the first pedal input, while the output from the last pedal in this chain goes to the "return" jack (there's two, so choose one and use the corresponding output jack when connecting to the amp).

Any pedals you want to run in the amp's effects loop will have to be separated from the others. You can still keep them on the board if you like, but you'll have to run a cable from the amp's effects send to the input of the first of those pedals, and another cable from the output of the last of the fx loop pedals, back to the amp's effects return. You should also use a separate power supply for those pedals, as you can get hum from using the board's power source for fx loop pedals as well as those going to the amp's input jack.

And I belive that the majority of modern Mesa Boogie amps,
have a parallel effects loop.
Which creates its own set of tone issues.

Or at least the owners of those amp models here on the forum have been saying.

You can set easily set up a BCB 60 (or any other pedal board) to have some pedals going direct to the front of amp, and some in the amps fx loop... it just means adding a few more cables.

Remember though that the Mesa amp probably has a parallel fx loop... So if you put any effect into it, you need to make sure it has a totally wet output from the pedal.

e.g...
50% of the main guitar signal from the preamps goes through the effects loop, and 50% bypassed to the power amp.
So if you put a pedal in the loop that you have set to have a 50/50 wet/dry mix then the actual sound you finally hear through the amp's speakers is actually 75% dry 25% wet... not what you originally thought.
Not all Boss pedals do a wet/dry split output.
Some can be forced to do wet/dry (such as connecting a "free" patch lead to one of the outputs on a CE5).

I didn't know what level you were on, so I thought I'd better start at the beginning - better safe than sorry :)

If you have room on the BCB-60 for all your pedals, there's no need for a separate board. As long as the ones connected to the amp's effects loop are separated from the ones connected to the amp input, you'll be fine. It will take a couple of long cables (there will be a total of three cables going to/from the amp), but that's the only way to keep the fx loop pedals at your feet. If you never turn those off (or just turn the loop on/off from the amp's footswitch), you could just as well keep them back at the amp, of course.

Welcome to the forum......i built my own board out of plywood weights a ton but we have a van so i don't have to carry it too far plus it let me set up the pedals the way i wanted........if your going keep all the pedals on one board it might an idea to get the guitar lead going to and from the effects loop in your amp with 90 degree connectors one one end as the pedals in those boss pedalboards can be a bit tight together...or you could have a look in the pedalboards section some people there have modded their Bcb 60's to take more pedals and with customised switching might give you some ideas.... the idea you have of running a seperate board for the stuff in the effects loop was one your namesake Joe Satraini used to do so your in good company......

Loking forward of the pics of your Mesa amp and gear.....
