Hi guys, thought you might like to see how I squeezed 8 Boss compacts, one Boss Twin, a tap tempo switch and two amp control footswitches into a case designed for 6 compacts:

I removed the plastic 'BCB-60' strip and steel frame and sawed them down to fit 3 extra compacts on the 2nd row. The 2nd row pedals sit on a velcro covered wooden shelf about 3/4" deep. The plastic strip was also drilled for my amp tremolo / reverb control stereo jack, 2 footswitches and a tap tempo jack.
The remaining pedals are connected with narrow jack-to-jack connectors and surrounded by 3/4" foam rubber, which holds everything together well and hides the power / tap tempo / patch cables.
The tap tempo can be fitted on the board above the DC-2, but I prefer it off to the side on the floor, as it gives a more positive action. The tap tempo jack is wired to both the PH-3 and DD-20.
And it still has room to fit the power supply, ebow, capo and slide |

Man that is nice.
Makes me think Boss should make a BCB-12 or BCB-120. |

I like the jack to jack connector idea.
Did the original power supply that came with the BCB have enough current to power all that or did you change the power supply? Also, how did you run the power daisy chain? The power supply that came with the BCB does not have enough drop points for all of those. |

the BCB-60 daisy chain has 8 or 9 male plugs... i can't remember offhand as i'm not looking at mine right now, but i know it's enough to power 6 pedals + a tuner and i can't remember if there's another one dangling.
the PS that comes with a bcb-60 i believe is 250mA. should be enough to power analog pedals.

| I still don't see it - of the 8 connectors one plugs into the board itself to get power from the PSC supply. There are seven left - I think by plan this is 6 pedals and 1 tuner the way it is laid out. The pictures show 8 compacts and a DD-20 plus some other stuff. I assume he bought a longer daisy chain(?) |

Thanks for your comments guys... I'm not a total nOOb, I have been lurking here a while (soaking up useful information! )

Yes the PSU is rated to 1000 mA. I replaced the Boss daisy chain with a visual sound 8-way as it has right-angle plugs to save room betwen the pedals (I also used a 2 way splitter on one plug for a total of 9 outputs).

| Check it again - I think you'll see that the OUTPUT is rated to 1000 mA (@ 9V). The input is rated to 250 mA (at a range of 50-60 Hz input AC voltages). I bet you didn't get ripped off. |

ah.
i'll have to look it over.
i got a BCB-60 in mint condition complete w/ all cables for $60, so i don't think i'd feel ripped off even if it was only a 250mA.
odd thing is, that i've found the PS w/ the BCB-60 that isn't running through the BCB-60 board picks up a LOT of interference... i was getting cel phone stuff through my amp when i used that PS with a different pedal board. |

| I really like the amp footswitches built in! My one concern would be the jack to jack connectors - I've heard they can seriously damage the jacks when moved around, because effectively the weight of 6 or so pedals can be put on one jack, rather than hanging loosely (unlikely, but I'm sure that it could cause problems to a lesser extent). |

Hi red_riviera
This is a really great mod & idea. Thumbs up, on your redesign of the classic BCB-60 case.
Perhaps Boss-Roland should pay some serious attention, to what you have achieved.
Regards Dr. Bob |
