| Tech 21 Trademark 30. Best solid state with a "tube sound" that I've come across, and it takes pedals like a champ. I leave it on the clean setting, which I think emulates a Fender tone. |

I am still looking for a JCM600 one of the greatest marshall tones
I once had a JTM612 combo but foolishly sold it. I still rue the day... |

They're nice amps. Basically it's the SansAmp GT2 with a speaker.
I did think of getting a Trademark, but still prefer their SansAmp pedals used direct. |

I mostly use the Matamp for touring, with a Boss RX-100 in the effects loop, and a Boss PS-3, PN-2, and HM-2 and RE-20 on my pedal board. I've also got a blackface twin, Bassman 100 and an Ampeg J12T.
I've started a new band using the Matamp with an RE-20 in the effects loop and 2 FZ-2's in front. One set to boost and the other on mode 1. (only occasionally at the same time) It sounds glorious!

I love my Roland JC-55. I just overhauled it recently, cleaning out the pots and replacing the stock speakers with a new pair from Eminence. The FBM-1 sounds really nice plugged into this amp, in my opinion.

Marshall JTM 622 2x12 all valve combo - some very mixed reviews of this on the net but mine is about 12 years old and I have never had a problem with it - lovely clean sounds and nice overdrive too
Orange Tiny Terror head - my home, small rehearsal and recording amp - paired with a home built 1 x 12 with a Celestion Heritage speaker. Beautiful pure sounding amp, so little background noise BUT so freaking loud if you want it to be, it's so small too, I have started carrying it as a spare to hook up to the JTMs speakers IF I ever have a problem with that. Took me a while to realise that the G12H I was using with it wasn't sounding good, especially with overdrive pedals, the Heritage has tamed it beautifully.

I use 2 amps. A Marshall MG100DFX solid state combo (100 watt), I run all my pedals through it except my FDR-1. It has a Celestion 12" speaker, two channels. I use my pedals for fuzz and dist and I use the lead channel for bluesy drive. My second amp is a Blackheart Little Giant, I run my FDR-1 through it for some reverb and lightly overdriven blues and surf tones. For a bit more drive I just turn up the amp (on the 3 watt mode at home, 5 watt on stage). The Marshall also has an effect loop but I don't use it for the moment. Pic:

The Orange Crush 35B is my 35 watt bass amp, I run my bass through a ME-50B and from that into the amp.

I also think the Tech21 stuff is the best sounding solid-state.. I find them much quieter than a GT-2, as well! My GT-2 had tons of top-end hiss. --
I have a few amps, but this is what I basement-play through right now. The wonderful thing is, I have its exact duplicate (about 80 units earlier in the production run) on hold right now.. so I can run the pair in stereo.. - Twin Subway Rockets has been a subject of much GAS lately!

Sweet.. two small Mesa's in stereo.....Bill Frisell does something similar with (i think) the subway and a small fender amp..... hopefully when things improve i plan on scaling down the muscicman combo for something like your mesa with my two little 1x12 cabs and the rack for the stereo stuff.. that last time one of these was for sale secondhand locally it was over 800... .... |
