Hi I was once told that vintage pedals work better with normal dry cell batteries and not alkaline ones. Is this true or myth?
thanx

Dry cell batteries lose their voltage gradually as they get older. Alkaline batteries are able to keep the voltage above 9V until they suddently die. Some people like the sound their overdrive pedals produce when the battery goes below 9V and with dry cell batteries you're able to keep that sound for longer.

Personally I think it's a myth that it sounds better. I much prefer the sound of the fully powered pedal
