Any idea(s) as to why Roland/Boss never offered one?

The PW-10 VWah has a Uni-V mode. It was actually the only thing I liked about the PW-10.

The RT-20 Rotary Ensemble also has a uni-vibe mode.

Just find an original Univibe, give it to boss, and let them figure it out

I probably should have been clearer -- I wasn't taking COSM modeling into consideration... I was thinking more along the lines of an authentic circuit like the Deja-Vibe. Mabye they just didn't think they'd sell enough of them to justfy the effort, that it's more of a boutique thing now. Or enough players get close enough with a phaser of some sort.

The exp/ctr jack on the PH-3 should allow you to use an expression pedal to get the uni-vibe effect. I haven't tried it, but the uni-vibe is really just a rocker pedal phaser
