I dont know about you guys, but I think the hm-2 is quite cool.
Its not the most "sonic" pedal out there, but still...the tone has something about itself.
I bought the pedal just for old times sake, since I used to have one when I was a kid. Remember it to be quite ok then. Belive that it was used on an old Peavy 112 Bandit at the time.
Still it sounds fine on my Marshall today. Im happy

Hi Ken

It sounds fabulous on my Valve Fender 75.

I like the HM-2 so much, that I bought 3 of them so far........
IMHO. They don't sound as good into the Solid State Amps that I Own.

They are getting more & more expensive over here in Australia [Oz]

I don't have a Peavey but those old solid state amps from the early 80s were pretty good. Everyone was saying they were crap at the time but having seen some of the junk that's been sold the last 25 years I got to say they were really decent amps for the price.

Hi Racer X

Thanks again for the offer, but I couldn't take a part of your history from you & your battle scared OD-1.

Those pedals must carry lots of great stories.

I managed to get a set of 4 new ones from a local dealer, I just rubbed some dirt & house dust into-onto one, to dull the plastic & central chrome part, & to age the numbers a little.
Looks straight from the late 70's now...

Ok here is a question you might not want to answer, & that's ok with me.

What band did you tour with, that you mentioned in one of your early posts on this forum?

Regards Dr. Bob

Back in '90 thru '92 I had the great fortune of being stationed
at Yokota Air Base in Fussa. Short train ride from Tokyo. I was
a radar installation tech. I played in a few project metal bands
in local and downtown live houses. Skil Saw, Ebola Fury and Hell Monster. Yes, they were quite original names. The local metal heads liked us ex pats. It was all for fun and beer. I also did some "noise" work while there. Urusai Bento was a industrial / uber noise / sonic assault in which I perfomed. Pure, unadulterated noise terrorism. Ultra feedback, wall of noise, static insanity. 120 db was not out of the question. Lordy it was quite loud! It was fun and exposed me to one of the many "underground" scenes in Tokyo.

To say I miss that place would be a monumental understatement.

Are there any modifications for this "beast" ? I did a quick search
but I could not find anything useful.

Looking at the schematic there are some places where I think would
bring some improvement.

I like the stock sound but the dist control is not very responsive.

Best Regards
