I need a functional thumbscrew. Can be black or silver (lol)! I just need one so my pedal doesn't look like a mutant! I don't know what I'd be willing to pay ($1?) but I'm sure you could just put it in an envelope and mail it.
So if anyone has an extra thumbscrew, mail it to me and I'll paypal you a dollar.
I realize I broke the rules since this is my first post, but I don't think it would hurt too bad if I ripped someone off for a thumbscrew. PM me, thanks guys. |

Hi Foulacy
Welcome to the forum from Australia.
You can get these from Roland US.
But they are a little bit more than a $1, plus P&P

| Just an FYI...I also needed a thumbscrew for a recently acquired long-dash DS-1. I called Boss and with shipping and handling it was gonna cost a little over $10 for a black thumbscrew. No thanks. Since I plan on keeping the pedal and use an AC adapter for power, I just went to a hardware store and found a silver screw that works perfectly. It's not a thumbscrew and it requires a Phillips head screw driver to tighten/loosen, but it does the job. It cost me 15 cents. Now I'd rather have a real Boss thumbscrew, of course, but not for $10. |

G'day Foulacy!
This is what I did... I looked for a dead Boss pedal locally - something where the board was fried - and bought it for $20. This got me a spare screw, several spare jacks, spare knobs... you get the picture.
Of course, finding a cheap dead pedal can be a challenge!

Try also asking your local Boss dealer. He probably orders a lot from Roland already so he won't charge for shipping costs. If you're lucky he might also have some in a drawer already
Do you know someone who has a BCB-60 pedal board? The cable covers are held down using standard thumb screws. Someone might not be to fuzzed about those covers and could let you have a couple of screws. |

| Before visiting the hardware store I called both major guitar stores in my town and neither had a BOSS thumbscrew to spare. They referred me to BOSS directly. What was interesting is that one of the stores (Guitar Center) has a big BOSS pedal display with all the new BOSS compact pedals hooked up so you could try them out. The pedals are receded into the display and there was not enough room in the display to unscrew a thumbscrew, if you wanted to. The design was intentional because so many BOSS thumbscrews had been stolen before. Obviously they're in demand! |
