| At least they did the right thing: "The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing." |

When i looked just about 20 minutes before you, it hadn't been ended yet, so i guess someone complained about itor the seller found out about the mistake, it might have been an honest mistake after all. |

| After I posted this, I contacted the seller and told them they were ripping people off...Glad to see they ended the auction early before someone ( like me, I'm looking for s DS-1 MIJ ) bid thinking they would get a MIJ |

Well hopefully people would be smart enough to catch the label as you did |

This is the response I received from this seller, apparently falsely advertizing your product is not a rip-off...
quote: How is it a Rip-off? Did YOU buy the pedal? Am I asking a RESERVE? NO! Are you even bidding on the item? NO again! If the high bidder wins it for $10 it is STILL worth it! NO RESERVE is NOT a rip off my friend!
Rick
But he is mistaken about one thing....I am not his friend. |

imho that seller was misrepresenting the item. It is encumbent on them to ensure that the listing details are correct - they weren't, hence they are at fault.
They should be thanking Sray10 for spotting it, otherwise, they could have found themselves dealing with a dispute / bad feedback, etc. I've noticed more of this sort of 'artistic license' creeping into ebay listings recently and I'll follow Sray10's example and begin to point them out.
One I saw a few weeks ago (and I can't find the listing now unfortunately stated "made with similar components as those built in Japan" - in other words MIT - but it didn't say that and there were no pictures of the label). I won't make many friends but at least it will help protect all of us who are genuine Boss fans. |

Interesting one DasBeef - 12 pictures on that listing and not one of the underside / label. Makes you suspicious straight away - good spot mate. .
I guess we need to be double careful with anything that's got 'rare' in the title. |

I have actually told this guy, so let's see what he does with the listing. I mailed him saying... "thanks for the pics, but I'm not interested. You have it listed as Made in Japan, when the label clearly says Made in Taiwan."
Ha ha. It's actually been chnged before I finished that reply. Now just says BNIB. |

| What does BNIB mean? It took me a couple of days before I understood MIJ meant 'made in Japan'. I may look like a twat but if I don't ask maybe I'll never know! |

NIB means New In Box, so I believe BNIB means Brand New In Box.
Yea people make mistakes ( I made one here when I listed some pedals for sell) . But the response I received from this seller clearly shows this was not the case.
There's not much that can be done about sellers misusing terms like Rare, Vintage, and so on. But when they say MIJ when it's clear to see other wise, that's just BS.
I made a new policy for myself, that I will not bid on a pedal that does not show a picture of the bottom ( label ) In more than one instance I have bought pedals that had no label on the bottom, and the auction did not have pics of the bottom or state anywhere that the label was missing.
I will also continue to contact sellers who use this tactic, I would think if it is an honest mistake, most seller would be grateful. |

some people also deliberately conceal whether it has a black or silver screw. If something isn't showing, there very well could be a reason! |
