well I'm now a bit tired of eBay. I have had myshare of pretty good purchases, but now a string of bad luck.
PH-1r, clicking switch (seller said works perfect) PH-1r, in box, had small yellow paint droppings on it but were SCRACTHED OFF WITH A METAL SOMETHING SCARRING THE NICE GREEN PAINT (c'mon, there are better way to remove paint than that!) (seller said buyer will not be disappointed with this) Won a BCB6G with psm5, daisy chain, PSA120 etc and ITS NOW BEEN A MONTH AND HAVEN"T heard boo...

EDIT - was able to reach seller by phone and he's very sorry something has gone wrong and is going to look into post office information etc, said also, that he sent it out right away, extremely sincere fellow so hopefully all is not lost (sure hope Post didn't lose it, its in a huge box etc!!!!)

Sorry to hear that. You got bad luck, for sure.
I just recieved 5 pedals, just put together in a cardboard box. No protections, the seller said "as new", they arrived beat up, of course...
Ebay is just people. Some are honest, some are not. And some are just morons... |

I seem to go through phases of dealing with crappy sellers on eBay. I had a spate of them a few months ago where I would pay instantly and have to wait ages (six weeks in one case) for the item to arrive.
The most bizarre transaction I had was an Electro Harmonix Holier Grail pedal I bought. They posted it to me in a huge cardboard box the size of a television set without any protective packaging whatsoever so it was just rattling around inside and getting battered about. I was gobsmacked when it arrived. Amazingly when I tried it, it still worked. Needless to say, the seller who was very rude got a big fat neg - especially as the postage cost was pretty steep too. |

| That sucks. Sorry to hear that. Perhaps you are now due for a really good deal? I have been very fortunate and never had a bad experience in all 40-50 of my deals. |

| Ebay postage is the most unrealistic thing ever, the price some people charge to send pedals you'd think they were made of lead. |

Yeah, I'll say Tomwest! I was once charged 24 pounds (about AU$ 60) for two pedals from the UK. He was going to charge me 32 originally (16 for each!) but I managed to talk him down a bit for combined postage. I did know the price of postage when I bid, and always stated that I was happy to pay the full price, but thought I'd at least ask. At least he came down a little.
Frustrating thing was though, when I looked at the postage price on the package, it was only 13 pounds!!! He must really think his packing demands a high price |

I don't mind sometimes if the postage price is quite high as long as I'm happy with the overall price, but I at least expect the seller to send the item with some sort of protective packaging and via the postage method specified.
I bought a DM-2 off ebay a few months ago fairly cheaply but the seller was asking 15 UK GBP postage for special delivery which was way too much but still a good deal overall. Anyway it turned up 4 weeks later, second class post in a second hand, ripped jiffy bag! Very annoying! |

| I haven't had any nightmares, but I have learned to just be patient. Good deals come along eventually, its just that a lot of people are competitive when it comes to bidding. For me, eBay is great if you have time to wait for a great deal or a certain item to come along. The times when I have overspent on eBay is when I just absolutely needed whatever it was now, or if I just absolutely wanted to make sure I got a particular item, so I will make exceptions for rare and hard to find items, but still, I try be patient. |

It's ridiculous sometimes, people often charge about 20 to deliver a DS-1 or a Big Muff (One of the lightest pedals I've ever held) to the UK. If it's a pedal I can stretch (within the U.K) to about 5, iternational about 10, but otherwise, they're ripping you off. |

We have pretty decent charges for sending internationally.
E.g. I can send a Boss pedal to just about anywhere in the world for about AU$12 and that's via airmail too! That's less than 5 pounds!!! Or about US$9.00 or 7 Euros!!!
I think our postal service must actually lose money with these prices.
Still, great for OS buyers buying from Australian sellers |

Ha! Dr Bob... Very good.
Actually it's a pity that the prices of music gear aren't as cheap as our postage rates!!!
Then we wouldn't need to buy from overseas!!! And all you "foreign" people ( ) would be buying from us due to our incredibly cheap postage rates. And then we could raise the price of the pedals, make more and more money!!!! <evil laugh...> ah ha ha har!!! |

My foreign ass has bought stuff directly from the Australian label Camera Obscura off of eBay, and if it wasn't for eBay I might not have found those CDs elsewhere. I even got the item faster from Australia than I have from a few sellers that were in the States! |

| Charging to much for postage is a tick for negative feedback on ebay in my book, I buy the item for the price I pay, without paying extra for postage. If it costs 5 bucks to post thats what i should pay, not 50!!! I have had the same with postage rip offs, from now on it will be mentioned and i will give a negative feedback for it!!! I am sick of it!! I just bought a guitar from the states, 95US$ postage for 4-10 working days delivery and nearly 30 working days later its still not here. No positive feedback on this one unless they can give me a good reason. |
