Hello guys! First post on this forum :)

I di some searches but didn't find anything, and the explanations on the web page of the ACA/PSA didn't satisfy me.

I know you can power an ACA pedal with PSA adapter by daisy chaining it. What I wanted to know is if it will damage the pedal, cause thats what I was told by a music shop guy. Is this true, or can I just daisy chain it without any worries? Also, if I want to power other units (Morley, Dunlop, etc), should it be using the PSA or ACA PSU?

Also, out of curiosity, I was wondering if you guys could tell me whether those pedals are analog or digital? :)

TU-2 ODB-3 CEB-3 LMB-3 BF-3 and BF-2 :)

Thanks in advance!

There should not be any danger of damage to your ACA pedals if you power them with a PSA adapter. Without the daisy chain they will be under-powered and may not sound as they should. With the daisy chain in place a resistor and diode that normally reduces the voltage of the ACA adapter is shorted and the pedal is powered by the full 9V delivered by the PSA adapter.

The difference between the 2 adapters (apart from aca being 12v and psa being 9v) is that the PSA adapter is regulated. This means that as you add more pedals to your chain, the adapter voltage will not drop but remain steady between 9 and 10 volts. The ACA adapter would start dropping off when the load got bigger.

As long as the pedal is designed for DC9V negative center, they can be used with the PSA adapter. Most manufacturers say that their pedals can't be used by any adapters apart from their own but that's just so they can sell more adapters.

TU-2 and BF-3 are degital while the rest of the pedals you mention are analog (I think )
