I would like to obtain a chorus sound like the one in this file:

I don't know exactly which BOSS model choose, may you help me to choose it and also how to obtain THAT sound?

Thanks.

Hi Fabius - I have been doing a little "chorus war" for a while, and finished last night.

1st round - CH-1 vs. CE-2 vs. CE-3. Winner: CE-2

2nd round - CE-2 vs. CE-5 (analog). Winner: Both! CE-2 is very transparent and shimmering, but CE-5 has the ability to get thicker. seems to have more "reverb" and you can adjust the tone.

3rd round - CE-2 & CE-5 vs. Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus. Winner: Oh man, getting tougher...the VLAC was the most transparent and clean but very subtle (for me)...then the rest as above...

I'd say...CE-2

I've thought CE-2 too, but isn't easy to find or to find it at a good price...

That sounds like an 80's chorus to me... in which case it's not a matter of the chorus pedal, but how the sound was obtained. A guitar (most likely a Strat, on a single coil setting) was probably DI'd, via a compressor and chorus, straight into the mixer.

I quote entirely what you wrote it!

- Strato or a single coil p.u.

- maybe a rack sound

- compressor

Yes, it's a 1988 record.

Congratulations.

Way-hay! Child of the 80's, I am...

OK...so to get that sound...If you're going to DI, then use a CE-2 or CE-5. The brightness you get from not using an amp will bring you that 80's ultra-bright sound.

If you're going to use an amp, then the CH-1 is the way to go. That's a very sparkly chorus pedal!

My son born in 1989 (like CH-1).

I've must to use an ampli... a Marshall... I think that will not clean as that sound.

I saw an used CH-1 in a shop before XMas, I'd to inform 'bout the price.
