Just looking for recommendations on the more "Out there" pedals, BOSS or otherwise. I love my synth tones but what I REALLY love is atmospheric noises. I kinda like the Pigtronix Mothership but for 400 I'd rather byu an epi LP or something . Atm I run... Guitar > Dist > Whammy > Main Dist > Pha > Flange > Noise Gate > Delay > Amp which tbh does the trick for most things.
I dont really see the need for a reverb pedal atm but I might be persuaded. I dont really wanna spend over 200 on a single pedal (Vintage or otherwise) and I would like something that I can try extensively before I buy.
All recommendations are welcome (Expecting someone to say SG-1 for some reason).
Well, I'm not a lady, but if your taking suggestions from the lads...
Get yourself a Danelectro DDS-1 Sitar Swami Pedal. It's a sitar simulator, even comes with a glass slide. Ok... so it's a pretty rubbish sutar simulator but it is a wierd pedal none the less. It's effect is a combination of Flange, Fuzz, Octave down and perhaps a little delay. It's not particularly useable, which I'm guessing is the reason Dano discontinued it. It is pretty out there though.
You can get some awesome atmospheric noise and droning out of it.
Wtf is that Makes a muff sound clean! Very cool for feedbacking but not something I'd use much otherwise. Is it discontinued? Cant seem to find one new. Pretty cool though if I find one at the right price I might check it out.
Hi Radioheading All the ladies in my life suggest you try out a Roland GR-20 Guitar Synth.
It will keep you off the streets for a very long time. And all our phone boxes will be safe once more.
Regards Dr. Bob
I actually bought one 3 or so years ago on my 18th. I sent it back and got a full refund cause the pickup it came with wouldnt go on my Ibanez, and I didnt want to stick it on my shiny new telecaster
I've never used one personally but i recently got the Jeff Beck Live at Ronnie Scotts DVD and i could hear him using the maestro ring modulator he was famous for using during the 70's...i'm sure there are more modern day(and cheaper) versions out there now...one whacky sounding effect for sure...another effect you can hear him use (which i also use a good bit)is a Leslie speaker sound..you can get various pedals that recreate it and a lot of multi effects have it built in as one of the effects these days...either fast or slow it sounds good to me...

Not really a fan of ring mods but tbh not really tried (Or listened) to multiple extensively. Definately something worth checking out.
@ PedalDan... Anything by "Z"? Who? Where? What? Why?
For atmospheric stuff have a look at Line 6's M9/M13. Yes they are multieffect's (although actually useful and easy to tweek the way they're set up) but its got some new and interesting effects in there.
