If you want to drive the prices back up, buy them now that the prices are low, and as you do that, you will also be thinning out the number of available VB-2s. Then wait a little bit and the scarcity that you created will drive prices up once again... |

I have noticed the price rise on a few others, the CE-2 in particular. Some CE-2s has been selling for close to the price of the VB-2s I linked. |

| That second VB-2 auction is a 24-hr auction with a reserve price - both definite no-no's. I'm surprised he even got a 100 bid. |

is it a usable pedal though, i mean, i know theyre collectable and such, but, in a musical sense?
i expect keyboard players may find it more useful? |

EXACTLY. I bought it and paid 250 on ebay for it but I play piano and piano only. That's why I bought it and it is an absolutely amazing effect.
In terms of guitar I guess you could use it in the latch position for long, unnatural vibratos not just the unlatch to put on the end.
BUT I LOVE IT. |

| For a good example of this "effect" with guitar, listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan on "Cold Shot" or "The Things I Used to Do". I imagine he wasn't using a VB-2, but that's the sound you can get out of a VB-2. Some try to do it with a CE-2 but it's not the same. |

| dudes, if you can't find uses for the vb-2 on guitar, you need to crank up the creativity a little bit. it is the ONLY pedal i couldn't live without. listen to blur's 13 or the solo on coffee and TV. the vb-2 can cop the magnatone vibrato perfectly, and that is one of the most heavenly tones of all time. vibrato used correctly is chorus without the cheesy-ass metallic edge and 80's nostalgia. run it with an analog delay and prepare to have you minds blown. |

Amen to that. Although I'd prefer a digi delay.
Thing is... isn't a vibrato pedal just a chorus pedal with the original signal blanked out? I'm sure I've seen an indyguitarist mod for the CE-5 that does this.
Running with that thought, then... would it be possible to mod a CE-5 so that the level control was a blend control? Full left would be no Modulated signal, centre a 50/50 mix (i.e. a chorus) and full right a 100% modulated signal (i.e. vibrato). |
