Hi All,
I searched the forum and couldn't find the info, forgive me if I missed it. I have a working DM-2 with the shaft of the Intensity variable resistor sheared off. I am looking for a part number that I can use to order a new one. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi SinnerSaved

Welcome to the forum from Australia.

I don't have a DM-2
I know Laurie & a few other guys have them.

Intensity according to my Schematic is:
Circuit reference RV4
50KB - that's a 50,000 or (50K) Linear pot.
Same as the Echo pot.
you should be able to see 50KB printed on the back or side of the pot.
They are standard 16mm diameter sized pots.

In the US SmallBear, or Mouser UK electronics should carry these.
These are common parts, lots of electronic supplies carry similar stock.

See pics of the pots here in Laurie's DM-2 internal Pics.

Hope this helped.

Aaaargh, I'm an old fool!
It's the Intensity POT that is sheared off.
Drummer's definition: The thingy that the Intensity knob on the front connects to.

Heaven forbid if enough force was applied to shear the phillips adjustor off of VR4!

Oh Holy-Moly,
After looking at the schematic, I was (and you Dr Bob) right in the first place. VR4 - OK 50K ohm linear pot. Got it.

Lauries photo doesn't show the back side of the pots, only the trimmer resistors (VR1,2,3) on the front side of the PCB. I was slightly fooled until I saw the schematic.

Rock on. Sall Goood.

Hey Dr Bob,

On Mouser, would this be the correct part?

http://www.mouser.com/catalog/634/675.pdf

313-1500F-Value
Screwdriver-shaft, Solder Lugs
50Kohm

Thanks for your help.

Hi SinnerSaved

The Intensity pot is the one in the Pic you posted
Is marked RV4 on my schematic as the off board Chassis mounted pot.

I think you are confusing the internal bias, cancel & clock trim pots.
VR1 - RV-2 and RV3 respectively.

You will have to replace the entire Intensity pot, as per my last reply.

Do yo need, or can read Schematics?
Check out the "Schematic Links" thread in the Mods & Tech topic.
http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4276

I think the DM-2 is on godiksennet's site.
It will help clear things up.

Be aware, because it's way out of production, you can't order the pot
by the part number on the service sheet.
As I wrote just buy a 16mm dia. 50K Lin pot & replace it.
Buy a couple of after market knobs to make your DM-2 look more complete.

If you look at the last (2) pics of Lauries DM-2, at the very bottom of the page,
you "can" see the pots inside the case, apologies about the confusion.
I was just looking to see which is the best pic to see these in.

Nice site - are you the one with the beard?

Regards Dr. Bob

Welcome!!

Intensity pot can be best replaced by a 50k one of these:
