Oh man, I'm in so far over my head...ok, so I already had a bunch of vintage, standard, and myriad pedals, as well as a few Boss, of course...and that's just when I was a drummer but loved buying this stuff!?! Spent a few years playing acoustic guitar, moved up to electric and wham! - into this stuff heavy now. Problem is, my homework can't keep up with my GAS... So, along with the toys themselves, I've been buying things that seem to go towards putting my first pedal board(s)together. I first got a PSM-5...then thought I should have a tuner so got the TU-2 (not at first realizing it's power supply capabilities) and now I am being offered both a LS-2 and NS-2... Haaalp! Whadoo I do???

My philosophy is: Save half, spend half.
You can't take it with you but ya may as well enjoy life a little bit. Just make sure bills are paid, retirement account growing, etc.. then the other half of your income (whatever it may be) becomes disposable. The key is of course to set yourself up with retirement (IRAs if you don't have a job w/benefits yet) at the youngest age possible. 20 years old is NOT too early.
But buy yourself a couple things before you get hitched & well.. I don't have to tell ya what comes after that! |

Well, okay - thanks for all the concern and good advice, but I really meant - of the PSM, LS and NS - which should I keep and use, and how? |

I'd opt for the LS-2 with its versatility. It can loop like the NS & power like either of the other two pedals but you get 2 loops! You can run 2 guitars into 1 amp, 1 into 2, mix 2 chains together.. a very handy pedal indeed. |

I would go for the LS-2 as well.. i use one to keep some of my pedals out of my signal chain(very handy if your using your vintage effects... ) when i don't need them and i use loop b to feed a boss TU-12 so my tuner is never in my signal chain and it allows for silent tuning on gigs...also as you know you can use it to power other pedals but remember it doesn't power the pedals itself you still need a power supply....but defo one of the handiest pedals i have..... |

my philosophy is if its a good deal, buy it.. even if it breaks you. at worst you have to resell to pay bills but if you got it for a good deal, you make money. |

Thanks, all. I was thinking about what you said DeFrag, and Franzoni - I have a whole other line where I'd like to have things like my Big Muff, Small Stone, Electric Mistress, Cosmo Chorus, etc...and it would be god to keep them separate from a more modern, mostly Boss set-up. so the LS-2 sounds good... No one has said anything about the NS-2 in terms of noise suppression? |

The NS-2 is great at noise suppression. I own 2 (1 for my home rig, one for my "gig" rig) and use them all the time. I've never really used the loop fucntion though, I just plug it in line with all my other pedals. For my high gain rig, I run it last, and then with my home rig, I run it first cause I mainly play Telecasters at home now, and that seems to cut back on the single coil hum (running it first) and not taking anything away from my sound (as long as you haveit set right). I just noticed, I used a lot of parentheses for this reply [(WTF is up with that?) LOL]. |

| i use it in the loop function with 7 pedals and it works great. ive only ever had noise come through when i was using an inexcusable amount of gain. like i just turned all my distortions on for experimentation purposes. it works excellent! |
