OK, well after a couple of questions prompted in the "Show your pedalboard" thread, here's a rundown on the ME-X.

It has 3 switchable loops, plus a bevy of internal effects. EQ, short delay, long delay, reverb, and a modulation section, with a bad-ass pitch shifter that does chromatic and detune, i have this super ambient patch setup with the detune, I should record something and put it up for you all to hear. I prefer multiple modulation which is why I have a DC-3 in there, and I just replaces my PH-2 seen in the photo with my BF-2. I have an SD-1 and i just have the tone in the middle and I upped the bass on patches that use it to replace the tone it sucks out of the bass. That's the beauty, is it's a multi-effects processor with loops for pedals. It has no built-in distortion so if you want distortion you gotta put an OD or DS something in there. But you can set up each patch however you want. Plus, built in cutoff with chromatic tuner. It even has tap tempo for the long delay, I don't use it but it's cool to have. Supposedly it will do midi control and can also have an expression pedal attached, although I have not done that either so I cannot say what parameters it could control. The Boss site does have a .pdf of the manual, if you want ot find out more. It's not the same thing as the command station or whatever that big ass routing computer thingie was

Here's the link to it on the main bossarea site - http://www.bossarea.com/other/mex.asp

I will entertain any more questions you have...

It was designed to be flexible so you could use whatever Boss distortion pedal you wanted rather than whatever they put in there... this thing is from the 80s ya know, modeling was not exactly happening back then! ;)

Cool, I've seen a few of these but never really knew what it contained.
