Anyone know of these? I have had a distortion for ages (picked in a deal) and I just picked a chorus today, essentially free as part of another deal:

It needs extensive repair. Any idea if it is worth the effort?

might be... i has a aria compressor i used to love when they came out...i used it with a strat and a Les Paul Deluxe and it gave me a nice sustain into the little solid state session amp i had a the the time...of course i gave a lend of it to a 'friend' and it 'disappeared'.....it was before i had the Dod compressor so it was 20 years ago so my memory might be a bit clouded but i remember liking it.....some of those cheap analogue chorus can sound quite good....if i remember correctly my compressor looked a bit different to your chorus ..i.e. the casing looks a bit different possibly your chorus is a slightly newer version....

Certainly not for the beautiness of its case... Looks like an old calculator to me. Sadly I don't know how it works, so I just can judge the book by its cover.

They are AWEFUL aesthetically. If Boss comnpacts have a look-and-feel of 9-out-of-10, these have a look-and-feel of 3-out-of-10.

And they have a hokey "2 stage" pedal push - a normal push, then if you push harder the pedal goes further and trips a second switch. Feels completely weird.

Guess I'll have to pull it apart to see what's in it. I might be lucky and have another credible chorus like the CE-2 or Arion. The Aria distortion I have is crap though, so I don't hold out a heap of hope!

I've tested a few Aria pedals from this series and found them to be very good sounding.
There are some later models that sounds absolutely awful though.

Hmmm, like what Bossarea mentioned before, I have a distortion of this series, and find it sounds good. I agree about the 2-stage idea, but my pedal comes close to a DS-1, maybe they vary a bit in terms of their electronics.
I have a feeling most of the pedals from that serie will sound like any of those classic 80s pedals.
