Hi Bossarea & Guys
I found a traded in DS-1 in a local music shop, it's the first OLD one that I have come across. As well as my first DS-1.
Here is the nitty-gritty on it: S/n 120400 MIJ The D in DS-1 is under the t large old style DC input socket It has the TA7136AP IC on the PCB Black plastic screw Black label with Use a coin to open battery compartment. And considering it's age, it only had minor wear & paint chips. It was reasonably cheap, considering that a new one is only $89Aust.
I guess it was a bit of a fortunate find, as it was in the back of a glass cabinet sightly hidden from general view. I have looked, at that part of the store many times, & I guess I just kept missing it.
According to the Bossarea Secret Decoder..... The unit with serial number 120400 was produced November 1981
Dr Bob I guess you guys, will let me have a bit of a dance?

Hi Bossarea & Guys I also bought a pre-loved MIT EH-2 from the same store as the DS-1
First of all thanks to all the people that replied to my thread, regarding the price of EH2's (thanks again Guys) I managed to get if for under $100 Aust.
S/n ZB20246 Silver label with Box & manual, original plastic bag & cardboard insert (I'm being smug here) Cosmetically it's about 8.5 to 9, this unit seems to have seen very little use.
The box has the 5 Year sticker on it. (I know there is current thread running about these stickers)
The pedals section states that: The EH-2 was sold from April 1990 to December 1997. According to the decoder: The unit with serial number ZB20246 was produced March 1990. The unit is number 0246 I know that Bossarea says that, it's give or take 2 months, but it appears that I may have picked up one of the earlier ones.
Can I have another little dance?

The earliest serial numbers are give or take 2 months. The current serials should be spot on so you definitely got an early one there. It's unit number 246 produced so most likely it's from the first month of production. Congrats |

Hi there! Here is an update of the pedals I own. Since my last post in this thread I purchased the following pedals:
SD-1 (Stinkfoot Plus Mod) CE-2 (MIJ, black label) MT-2 (to be modded by Stinkfoot) TU-15 PQ-4
My old list: CS-2 BD-2 (Keeley Phat Mod) SD-2 FZ-2 FZ-3 PW-2 PH-1r BF-2 (MIJ, black knobs) RV-2 DM-2 DD-5 (to be modded by Stinkfoot) BCB-60
non-Boss: Ibanez TS-9 Tubescreamer (Original 1983 issue w/ JRC4558D chip) Ibanez SD-9 Sonic Distortion Dunlop Dimebag Signature Wah DB-01
I dont want to stock up with pedals I do not really need or that I am not completely happy with. Also, I am on a budget, so some had to go again
I owned once: DS-2 (MIT, did not like the distortion) AW-2 (this pedals concept does not cut it for me...) HM-2 (even the XT-2 sounds better to me, but not by much
) BD-2 (upgraded to the Keeley mod, highly recommended, though costly) CH-1 (not a chance; at least I got my money back) CS-3 (was replaced by a CS-2) SD-1 (sounds good, but the Stinkfoot mod is WAY better) OC-2 (see the comments about the AW-2 above) BCB-6 (the BCB-60 is much better suited to my needs than this case) PSM-5 (had to go along with the BCB-6; the BCB-60 is enough for me) XT-2 (did not like the distortion at all; could not hang on to it even for collecting purposes!) Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Fuzz-Wah (the Fuzz is un-usable and the Wah is not that special to justify keeping it) TU-2 (a nice tuner, but it takes up a pedal slot on the BCB-60; the TU-15 does not
) DC-3 (this is a nice pedal, but the CE-2 is nicer; I am not that big a chorus fan anyway
) MZ-2 (had it only for a short time; it tries to do too many times at once) DS-1 (too noisy and, admittedly, not as formidable as the Ibanez SD-9) NS-2 (with at most 6 pedals (BOSS at that!) in the chain there is no real need for it, I guess
)

| Just got a GE-6 and love it to bits. I much prefer it to the GE-7. There's something about what it does to the tone that I can't put my finger on - it just sounds better! |
