Hi, I just got a PH-1r a few days ago. It is in decent shape with a few dings nothing major but, when I'm playing clean tone is adds small amounts of unwanted distortion at certain parts of the modulation cycle also the light is very dim is that normal it's SN states it was made in may 1983. Soon I'll be getting an EH-2 will this help when I add it to my set-up? Any help or suggestions would be great.

Now I just got my EH-2 and it's even worse. (the phaser don't sound nearly as bad as this EH-2) Could there be something wrong with my cables? The EH-2 has this real bad almost hissing sound decay on each note. Sounds like a loud amp being played next to some snare drums. This can't be how an EH-2 sounds

A little while back my Ph-1r stopped phasing altogether. I know something was up.

Brought into Boss and some wire had come loose. $25.00 she was good as new. Its worth it to check it out.

I have more worry with the EH-2. No matter what setting there is so much buzz noise it's crazy. The buzz goes away after the sens light goes away. When the sens light is on that means the enhancer is in effect right? So does this mean my EH-2 is just total crap because, from all I have heard of this pedal is that you can even hear it or you don't know it's on,well with this one you know it's on the second you hit a note because the buzz is overwhelming
I'm so pissed off

are you using batteries or ac adapter? i know when i use batteries, when they die the led doesn't really light up and the phaser is barely audible.

Hi Guys

Dim LED

I believe the PH-1r is an ACA 12V pedal
or try the PSA + new 9V pedal and daisy chain trick.

yes, youre right dr bob.

here is a question you might be able to answer; can you run more power into those 12v pedals? ie. the bf2, which i also own.

hey there. as for your PH-1, this might be normal. if you have a loud input to your amp the PH-1 might break up at certain peaks. depending on your amps headroom, clipping (distortion) will take place at different peaks. try turning down the res knob and any boosters and see if it still makes this noise.

your EH-2 sounds defective.

Hi Timbo
I'll be glad to answer your question, but I don't quite understand what you mean by MORE POWER into those 12V pedals.

Can you be a lot more specific?
Or do you mean wired up with a daisy chain power lead?

Hi Timbo

Are you sure you're not Tim The Tool Man?
Or related to him?

I suppose the answer is yes in a fashion, if you built a Pre-Regulator from the 18V supply.
Before you fed it into the 9V DC in of the Boss pedal.

But I will tell you... to drop 18VDC to 9-12VDC is going to generate some heat.
You are dropping about 6 to 9VDC across the regulator, and this gets converted directly to heat, you would have to mount in on a small piece of aluminum or get a good small heatsink.
(In a vented box, or mount it inside the metal box to the metal, this will then act as the heatsink.)

I could link you to an old thread I posted about building a regulator, with a nice copy of the circuit.
It's on this forum, about 12 to 15 months ago.
Maybe you can do a search for it.

Regards Dr. Bob

Appologies, if I made your brain hurt.
