I also wholeheartedly dislike "musicians" who tell you and strongly believe that making music and drugs go hand in hand and that one can't be executed without the other.
That same drummer I mentioned earlier used so much Speed during the weekend, that when we'd rehearse on monday he'd forgotten everything we told him the week before.
Now who's missing the point?!
Some of you might remember my post/rant... late last year about drummers..our drummers main problem is too much hash and beer.... he can't drink for peanuts anyway so he is usually elephants by the break........ our van is now knackered and were looking at buying a new one..we might in the meantine for a couple of gigs have to drive our own cars till we get sorted... now he reckons..."the fun will go out of it ..if it happens i'm off "....(his loss i checked the local muso ad for contact and there is 148 drummers looking for gigs.... it's amazing who starts coming out of the woodwork with the bit of a downturn to make a few bob)......... i.e. he can't get pissed and stoned and drive home.....WTF is it with drummers...?.
why you gotta pick on fingerstyle players thats how i started playing
Who is picking on us fingerstylers....?.......i play a lot like this at home and on some stuff on gigs...usually cause i can't find a plec....... like Jeff Beck said when he was asked why he seldom used a plec anymore.." you can't drop your fingers".....he started back in the 70's when he was still having a beer on a gig but he also said that the range of sounds and textures he can get from his fingers it would be hard to go back to a plec full time again...
