I've got a MIJ CE-2. My parents bought it for me back in 1987 or 88. It's the second pedal I ever owned (1st was a DS-1, sadly, I don't have that anymore), and the only one my mom ever felt was worth the money.
Here's my question, after all these years it sounds harsh with a lot of high end added when engaged. I also hear a noticable volume boost. Is this normal? Am I hearing things or have others experienced this? Is this merely "aging?" Can this/should this be fixed, with a Keeley mod, for example?
Well you are getting the signal modulated, and you get your normal clean signal through as well.... That is how chorus works... If it is a bother with drive, maybe place it before the drive/dist.
Mine does the boost thing as well, but i like the fact it makes it stand out a bit in the mix.....i normally use it for cleans or with a bit of grit not full on distortion......
