hi guys. this may border on sacrilege to a true boss collector, but has somebody tried to add a tone control to an od-1 to make it more like an sd-1? if yes, how? i'd like my od-1 to have more flexibility. i know its easier to buy a used sd-1 or an od-3 but i don't have the cash or the pedalboard space since i still would like to have that od-1 on it as a solo boost. there's also that ohhh factor when guys look at your board and see an 20 yr old battle-scarred pedal together with shiny mits.

hi racer x. that's actually three words, but i get your point. so i think i'll have to buy a used sd-1 or a n od3 after all. the warhorse looks good on any pedalboard and i actually have 2: od-1 and hm-2. thanks, mabuhay(long live) our warhorses!javascript:insertsmilie('')

next question. would it be ok then to stack an rca 4558 opamp to the stock nec 4558 to add a little more drive, tame the mids and highs and add some bass and make the overall od sound smoother and sustainey.the mods mod would be inside, not on the appearance.

If you have two OD-1's you'd really be better off just selling one and buying an SD-1 and messing with it. No reason to modify an OD-1.
