My brother recently purchased a Fulltone OCD (Overdrive) and I have to say that it sounds awesome.

Electro Harmonix build some very cool pedals like the Hol(y/ier/iest) Grail, the POG and the Big Muff PI. Still, where possible i prefer Boss. |

I guess I'd go for MXR, Maxon and Digitech single pedals, in that order, although I've never had one of those brands, but some friends had.
I've tried some Digitech overdrives and some Ibanez old flangers, they sound good |

I'll put in another plug for the Korg G4. It's probably the only non-Boss thing I'll have when it's all said and done. Oh, except for the Fishman Aura, but that's a whole 'nother animal.

If it is strictly pedals, I'd say Electro-Harmonix. Wide selection and sound good in general. I just wish they were more reliable, like Boss pedals, though.

| Other than Boss, I like Dunlop/MXR pedals, Small Stones, and Keeley's Katana Boost is on my wishlist. Also I have been thinking about possibly getting a Korg DT-10 tuner. |

These brands spring to mind: Barber, Maxon, Ibanez, vintage Arion and Aria, Nobels and Danelectro.
I definitely don't like E-H pedals. Three noisy Holy Grails is enough.

I'd give the EH Small Clone a vote for great all around chorus. Much more versatile than its 1 knob suggests & it sounds great.
The Voodoo Lab tremolo is great as well. I've got the older 2 knob version. Just a great sounding classic smooth tremolo. I want to buy the newer one to see how it differs.

Well I don't think my EH USA Big Muff could ever be replaced.
I just ordered a Dano Chicken Salad Vibrato pedal for $30. There is a Boss Vibrato on ebay right now that is up to $305.

| I must admit this guilty pleasure, one of my favorite pedals recently is the Danelectro French Toast Octave-Fuzz, supposedly Danelectro made the circuits for Foxx Tone originally (or something to that effect), and since I cannot justify $200 for an effect I barely use, it works out well for me. I love that octave up sound, it just doesn't work with the band I am in right now, but when I am at home I goof around with it. And for a pedal around $20 it sounds pretty good. |
