Hi guys Just came across the Digitech EX-7 Expression Factory Now tell me this isn't worth looking at Load the sound demo. Listen to the intro music, then, Press the various demo-play buttons.
Especially the XP300 Space Station
It has some fantastic sounds, now imagine this combined with your Boss Collection.
It's goes for about $200 US & $450-500 Aust. Yeah prices can be a killer down here. |

| The bad thing with it is that you can't use distortion by itself as I understand it. When you turn the effect off you go to bypass if I remember it correctly. |

Looks nice. Would have been cool to compare the DS-1 and MT-2 simulations to the real thing.
Thanks Bossarea, sorry I just plain forgot to paste in the link.
Has anyone bought an EX-7 And can they confirm that the distortions - effects can't be used without the wah. as quoted by Erik dP

I checked out the link and demo, but having owned and unloaded a few DOD/DigiTech products early in my Guitar Playing career, I decided to never touch or purchase anything made by them again.
They change all their pedals and lineups every couple of years, so it makes me think they can't stand behind what they sell. They're just to "about the moment" with what they design. You can't tell me they planned on having a timeless winner like a DS-1 or DynaComp when they made the "Grunge" pedal or whatever flavor of the week they come up with. |

According to Total Guitar review (British magazine): ---------------------------------------- "And while the toe and heel buttons work well, it seemed strange that when you add distortion - then turn it back off - the EX-7 reverts to 'bypass' (ie, instead of returning to the modulation effect)."
"Against: You can't use the distortions on their own." ----------------------------------------
In my (Erik dP) own opinion it is not very good that you cannot play with distortion and then add the mod effect. It would have been better if e.g. the toe was mod on/off and heel dist on/off. However it got a "best buy" verdict.
My guess is that if you use a modulation effect and turn the actual effect down as much as possible you would get close to pure distortion just as the Line6 MM4 where the rotary speaker can be set wery slow/low to get the built in distortion with only a little, hardly noticed, rotary effect.
If you want an "all in one" box the new floorpod looks more like my taste for the same price ($199) at Guitar Center. http://www.line6.com/floorpod/
