Hey Guys, Did I miss the discussion or something? I just went to my local music shop with my guitarist because he wanted to buy a TU-2... when we got there we discovered they had TU-3's. I didn't even know they were bringing that out!

Anyway, he bought a TU-3. It looks just like a TU-2, but it can tune lower than a TU-2 (ie for 6 string basses etc). I'm not sure what other differences there are, anyone know?

Brighter LEDs for outdoor use, more accurate tuning(+-1cent), up to 6 whole steps flat tunings

Cheers DasBeef... Not sure how I missed that one!?

Anyone else have a TU-3 yet? What do you think?

My guitarist reports that:

"[the] TU-3 rocks. Never thought i'd say that about a tuner. Very quick and doesn't jump around at all. The bright mode for the LED's is bright enough that I dont need my glasses while tuning (very good thing), but not Biyang light up the whole room bright."

...For those of you who have not seen a Biyang pedal LED, they are spectacularly bright... Those of you who have seen one and can still see, should be thankful. Seriously, they are way too bright.

Instore the TU-3 was quite a bit cheaper than the TU-2... I still use a TU-12, but I'm going to give the TU-3 a try...

Can the TU-3 still power more pedals via a daisy chain?

Yeah the daisy chain is still there. I haven't really used a TU-2 to compare it too but seems more a refresh of the internals than anything else.

Well I have a TU-3 on it's way to me as an upgrade for my TU-2 so I'll let you know how I get on. I was always a little disappointed that the 2 didn't seem as good as the 12 for tuning but at the same time liking the pedal format. Also I have experienced the fact that the 2 can be entirely invisible in sunlight so I am hoping for an improvement there too. Not particularly exciting but an important bit of kit for me.

I did consider that but I have never had a tone loss problem with my TU-2 and the like the way it operates so I though I would stick with Boss given the new features. I'll be sure to post a report when it arrives.

Im not too sure if my tu2 sucks tone but i think ill be getting a pitchblack like ollie. I do like the look of that big screen...the only thing with the pitchblack is you cant tune out loud with it like you can with the boss tuners...it just silences your signal. I like to be able to hear my self tune when im playing at home. But oh well!

My TU-2 has been very reliable - 9 years - but if i were to upgrade, it would be to a Turbo Tuner. The PB is only a slight upgrade over the TU-2 IMO

the true Bypass is just a bonus, the Pitchblack is smaller, cheaper, and is more accurate. I think someone has a pitchblack on here, RHCP?
