Hello. This is my first post here, although Ive been loving the site for years.
I recently picked up an "as-is" DF-2 from another gear forum. Jacks were removed. The seller said that it worked when he wired it to half of an instrument cable (???).
I sent the pedal over to a friend for him to install new jacks. These are the ones I got for it: Switchcraft 111 and 112B http://www.effectsconnection.com/oscommerce/product_info.php?cPath=2&products_id=45&osCsid=baeb9df7345bfe0327fb3271099e503b

Well, after the jacks were replaced, I got a message from my friend saying that the pedal didnt work. In fact, he said : quote: when the power is wired up the LED does not light and the circuit isnt getting power
and
quote: I tried battery, daisy chain, and switching the wiring. I know you mentioned this is a daisy chain only pedal but is there any other slight quirks that it has differently then most standard boss pedals that you know of? I've done a lot of small boss pedal repairs like this but this one is stumping me.
I cant really say that Im too upset, as I only had to give up $25 in trade bait for it, but Id still like to get it working, as Ive been on a hunt for a fairly priced one for quite some time.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice. ********************************************************************* UPDATE *********************************************************************
The guy that I sent it to couldnt figure it out. He is sending it back, and I should have it tomorrow. Im wondering if there is anyone here that would like to take a stab at it, and if so, name your price. |

Back again.
Mr. Repairman is asking for a pic of the jacks' wiring on a DF-2. Anyone got one handy? |

| I think (think)that any Boss pedal will work as a go-by. Aren't the wire colors the same all the time? |

Wow. Thanks for the awesome responses.
Its a Super Feedbacker/Distortion.
I think it might need a power jack replacement, or even more work. He's been messing with the In/Out jacks for 2 days, and still no luck.

First of all, make print of DF-2 schematic!
Put battery and jacks in pedal, take multimeter set to "check sound", one pin of multimeter put on " + " and with second try to follow circuit from " + " to " - ". This is slower but the best way to find where the circuit is broken.
I guess that problem will B on Input jack.
Explain me the way of wires on Input jack, cos I can`t C what is going on on the pictures. |

Please make him take pictures and explain what he did |

| Thanks to all. Still no luck. I told him to take his time with it, and requested pics. |

Also, could someone PLEASE confirm that those in/out jacks were correct?
When I got the pedal, the INput jack was still attached, and it doesnt look quite like the one that I bought to replace it. It is enclosed, but IIRC, there was an extra solder tab (dont know the technical jargon).
The guy working on it is a forumite at another forum that Ive ton a few deals with, talked a lot with, and has been working on pedals for a little while now. |

Why did you buy a stereo jack? and in the first post you mentioned that the pedal had no jacks when you got it , while in this post you say 'the input jack was still attached)?? |

I bought the jack that I was told to buy.
I didnt say that the pedal had no jacks when I got it. I said they were removed. I was told that both needed to be replaced before I traded for the pedal, so I bought the two that I was instructed to buy. I received the pedal, and the jack came with it.
Why do I feel like Im defending myself in a "help my pedal is broken" thread??? wtf. |
